01Five hours of tubing through ancient Maya caves after a short hike, with a scenic 100-mile drive from Placencia.
“Amazing tour with well-informed staff.”— B4617OFterrys
02Full-day guided trip — two-hour drive to Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, cave climbing, swimming, and exploring Maya artifacts.
“The pickup was at 6:30, followed by a 2-hour drive where we met our guide, Francisco. He was dedicated to ensuring everyone had a fantastic experience and shared a wealth of information about the local bugs, plants, and Mayan history. Francisco encouraged questions and was honest about any limitations in his answers, all while maintaining a friendly attitude to make everyone feel welcome. He ensured we had ample time to explore the caves without feeling rushed by other tourists. The homemade lunch he provided was some of the best local food I've tasted. The caves are fascinating due to their historical and cultural importance, but it was Francisco who truly made our visit unforgettable. I was pleasantly surprised by the flat and easy hike to the cave, which had minimal bugs. The warnings about river crossings were helpful, especially given the water levels. There were sections where swimming was the only way to navigate. If I could change one thing, it would be to have brought towels and spare clothes, as there’s nowhere to find them after swimming. The damp clothing made the ride back a bit uncomfortable, but overall, it was an amazing experience. We returned to our hotel around 6 that evening, so be prepared for a full day out.”— 279elisap
03Full-day tour from Placencia to Tikal, exploring ancient Mayan temples and ruins.
“My husband and I joined a tour to Tikal, and our driver, Edgar, exceeded all our expectations. From the start to the end of our journey, he was exceptional, sharing fascinating stories and history about Belize that made our trip truly memorable. We were fortunate to run into him again during another adventure, and he recognized us with genuine enthusiasm. Belize is fortunate to have such a remarkable guide.”— 808alyc
04Two-hour tour on trained horses through rainforest groves and a river swim, suitable for children and adults alike.
“My husband and I booked this experience through our hotel in Hopkins (Hamanasi) since we both had riding experience in the past. This farm is a genuine working operation with sheep, cows, horses, goats, and guinea fowl. Ken, our guide, ensured we had a fantastic time. He trains the horses and maintains the trails. We chose a more advanced riding option, which was exactly what we hoped for, with some hills along the way. Our horses were excellent and well-trained. The scenery was breathtaking, and we even spotted toucans and various other birds. The ranch borders a jaguar reserve, so keep an eye out for paw prints! Be sure to bring high DEET bug spray, water bottles for everyone, and wear long pants and boots. We loved our adventure and only wish we had done it earlier in our vacation to repeat the experience.”— piggyflamingomama
05Half-day charter on Belize’s Mesoamerican Barrier Reef — catch barracuda, snapper, and more with your family.
“Ryan was excellent with our family group and found us fish immediately.”— Jake J
06A full-day tour — explore Xunantunich Mayan ruins and cave tubing at Jaguar Paw, including lunch and a knowledgeable guide throughout.
“Victor was an outstanding guide with extensive knowledge of Mayan history and culture, and it's evident he takes great pride in his country and heritage. The lunch was delightful. He ensured that everyone was safe, content, and enjoying themselves throughout the day. I highly recommend choosing him if possible. The only drawback was the considerable driving time while traveling around Belize, so be prepared for a lengthy day.”— Nellie_W
07Six hours, guided transport — cook traditional dishes in a Mayan kitchen, enjoy your lunch, then make your own chocolate bar at a local cacao farm.
“If you want to experience more than just sunscreen and drinks during your time in Belize, be sure to connect with Mr. Julio and explore Mayan culture. Kendrick, our guide, infused the day with amazing energy and enthusiasm, while Mr. Noel provided excellent driving. Sean quietly shared additional insights, and Narcisso guided us through the process of growing and harvesting cacao. Mr. Julio's extensive knowledge of cacao and Mayan traditions made me wish for more time with him. It's no surprise that British royals William and Kate were introduced to him during their visit. Olivia welcomed us in her kitchen, making us feel like family as she encouraged us to prepare a delicious meal over a fire. Overall, it was a truly memorable day that enriched my understanding and appreciation of Mayan culture and chocolate.”— christopherhH6222EU
08A full-day tour featuring a 100-mile drive to El Castillo and cave tubing among ancient limestone caves.
“We were picked up right from our condo with clear guidance on what to bring and what to expect. Pablo, our guide and coordinator, was punctual, professional, and friendly. He offered extensive knowledge about the Mayan culture and Belize, maintaining our enthusiasm from morning until evening. The visit to the archaeological site was incredible, allowing us to learn and climb ancient structures, which was absolutely thrilling. The cave tubing was a different kind of amazing; floating through caves shaped by centuries of water was surreal. The hike to the river took about 30 minutes over gravel and through streams, so wearing good water or hiking sandals is advisable, as well as being prepared for mosquitoes. However, once we reached the caves, any discomfort was forgotten. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.”— GoPlaces22266279481
09Half-day tour—start at a cacao farm, make chocolate with traditional methods, end with a swim at a nearby waterfall.
“We had a fantastic time on this tour, which was tailored for our son with special needs, keeping physical demands minimal. Our guide, Israel, made special arrangements with the restaurant for a suitable meal for our son and was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout. The visit to the Mayan chocolate farm and factory was both enjoyable and delicious. The waterfalls were stunning and ideal for swimming, just a quick hike from the parking lot. It was a truly delightful experience for our entire family.”— Wander34886389901
10Full-day guided hike through Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary with inner tubing on South Stann Creek, showcasing diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes.
“We had a fantastic time exploring Cockscomb Wildlife Preserve with Edgar. He picked us up promptly in Hopkins Village and provided engaging insights during our short drive to the preserve. Choosing to hike before tubing was the best decision, as the trails were serene and full of wildlife. After enjoying a refreshing swim in a stunning waterfall pool, we floated down the river in tubes, taking in the lovely jungle scenery. Following our adventures, we savored a Mayan lunch that was the highlight of our meals during the trip. Huge thanks to Edgar for an unforgettable day; these memories will stay with us forever.”— Leslie V
11Full-day tour with private transport — float through caves and explore the ancient Maya ruins of Xunantunich.
“Cave tubing was an incredible experience and certainly a highlight of our vacation. Our main guide, Alex, was outstanding from beginning to end. He picked us up directly from our Airbnb and provided insightful commentary during the drive, sharing fascinating details along the way. Upon arrival, we had a short and easy hike to the cave tubing entrance, where everything was ready for us, including the tubes. Alex led us through the caves, even swimming alongside us to ensure everyone felt comfortable and enjoyed themselves. One of the most memorable parts was the spelunking—walking and swimming deeper into the caves, which became my favorite aspect of the day! After the adventure, we had a lovely lunch, which was the perfect conclusion to our outing. I highly recommend this tour—everything was well-organized, enjoyable, and truly memorable.”— Traveltogether1223
