My husband and I joined a tour to Tikal, and our driver, Edgar, exceeded all our expectations. From the start to the end of our journey, he was exceptional, sharing fascinating stories and history about Belize that made our trip truly memorable. We were fortunate to run into him again during another adventure, and he recognized us with genuine enthusiasm. Belize is fortunate to have such a remarkable guide.
Our tour guide, Jimmy, was exceptional throughout the entire day. During our honeymoon in Belize, we booked a last-minute excursion to Tikal, with a 5 am pickup from our hotel for a full day of exploration. Jimmy escorted us to the border and even accompanied us into Guatemala along with the local guide, which made us feel at ease. He provided insightful information about Mayan history and demonstrated impressive knowledge of the region. I highly recommend this experience to anyone considering it.
Our trip to Tikal from Placencia was truly incredible. Starting at 5:20 AM, we enjoyed discussing Belize while watching the sunrise. By the time we reached the Guatemala border, we felt like a group of friends. Our driver, Edgar, was enthusiastic and shared his life stories with us. Hammerlin, who oversaw our day, expertly guided us through immigration and customs, helped with currency exchange, and introduced us to our Tikal guide. We left one vehicle at the border, and a fantastic guide named Reyes took over. His knowledge about Tikal, the Mayans, and the jungle was impressive, and he answered our questions with enthusiasm and detail. Hammerlin made an excellent choice with Reyes. As the day wrapped up, Jimmy drove us back to our resort, showcasing his pride in Belize. Thank you, Hammerlin, for arranging what we consider the best tour we've ever taken. As seasoned travelers, we highly endorse untamedbelize.com.
We booked a day trip to Tikal from Dangriga through Untame Tours, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. Hamerlin was responsive to our emails and helped rearrange our one-way journey easily. Edgar picked us up at 5 am and provided a great drive to the border, sharing his passion and knowledge about Belize while maintaining a professional demeanor. He was a welcoming presence at that early hour. Reyes was our guide at Tikal and truly exceeded our expectations. It was a remarkable day exploring the Mayan ruins while immersing ourselves in Guatemalan culture. We felt safe, enjoyed ourselves immensely, and gained valuable insights about the regions from Dangriga to Flores, including Tikal. Although it may cost more than other tours, the personalized experience significantly enhanced our enjoyment. We highly recommend this tour.
My family recently enjoyed a full day excursion from Hopkins to Tikal. Although it lasted around 15 hours, the experience was incredible. Our guides, Rickie in Belize and Ronald in Guatemala, were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, sharing many fascinating facts throughout. Ronald had a remarkable ability to spot wildlife in Guatemala, enabling us to see numerous spider monkeys, toucans, tarantulas, coatis, and even jabiru storks. Tikal is an extraordinary site located deep in the forest, and we will cherish the memories of this trip forever. Thank you, Rickie and Ronald, for an unforgettable experience.
It was an incredible day that, while long, was absolutely rewarding. RJ managed all the transfers and border crossings effortlessly, making it completely stress-free. Our guide Mario provided an astonishing experience at Tikal. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend it to anyone.
We truly enjoyed our experience; the guide was knowledgeable and provided great insights into Mayan culture. The meal was delicious, and the overall organization of the trip was excellent. My only concern is the lack of responses to my questions; please ensure communication remains open.
Our driver Edward picked us up at 5am for the two-hour journey to the Guatemala border. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. At the border, we met our new guide and driver, Levi and Cash, who took us over two hours to Tikal. Levi was an excellent guide and was very patient with us seniors who had difficulty with some of the steps. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch afterward at a nice restaurant in Guatemala. I highly recommend this experience, despite it being a long 15-hour day.
Incredible destination filled with rich history and culture. Our guide was fantastic, adding to the overall experience. This was my second visit, and I would gladly return once more.
The day began with a 5 am pickup, and we traveled for about 2.5 hours to the border, where we were met by our guide, Reyes. Our driver and Reyes made the immigration process quite smooth. After crossing the border, Reyes drove us for another 1.5 hours to Tikal, sharing details about our day's itinerary and imparting historical insights about Guatemala and Tikal. We spent roughly 4 hours exploring Tikal, walking over 4 miles through the vast and stunning complex. The views from the top of the pyramids are breathtaking, with wooden staircases aiding the climb. Reyes is an excellent guide, providing rich historical context about the Mayans as we explored. If you're visiting Belize, I highly suggest taking this tour.
