My husband and I booked this experience through our hotel in Hopkins (Hamanasi) since we both had riding experience in the past. This farm is a genuine working operation with sheep, cows, horses, goats, and guinea fowl. Ken, our guide, ensured we had a fantastic time. He trains the horses and maintains the trails. We chose a more advanced riding option, which was exactly what we hoped for, with some hills along the way. Our horses were excellent and well-trained. The scenery was breathtaking, and we even spotted toucans and various other birds. The ranch borders a jaguar reserve, so keep an eye out for paw prints! Be sure to bring high DEET bug spray, water bottles for everyone, and wear long pants and boots. We loved our adventure and only wish we had done it earlier in our vacation to repeat the experience.
Our family, consisting of four adults and two kids aged 7 and 10, had a lovely experience with Outback Trails. The two-hour ride to a secluded river allowed us to relax and cool off. The staff was outstanding, and the facility was well-maintained. We also enjoyed a great lunch afterward. Just a heads up, the facility is about a 45-minute drive each way from Palencia Pier, which includes a ferry from Harvest Caye costing $25 per person, with a 20-minute trip to the mainland.
We had an incredible adventure! We gained a deep understanding of Belize's culture and agriculture and even spotted jaguar paw prints. The tour guides were outstanding. We highly recommend this experience to everyone, regardless of their skill level.
Reggie and Ken were fantastic guides, and the horses were gentle with stunning scenery all around. Although we didn’t go into the river, we took a break to hydrate, and the guides provided extra water if needed. Our driver, Ricky, went above and beyond. He gave us a brief tour of Hopkins, including a stop for fresh fruit. After our 1 PM ride, he even joined us for dinner at a beachside restaurant before returning us to our hotel. It was a remarkable experience that we highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun adventure.
Our guide, Ken, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, patient with our group of three, and made the afternoon enjoyable. I recommend that future riders apply sunscreen and bug spray before mounting, as there’s no break for about an hour. Wearing long pants and sneakers or boots is highly advisable. Overall, it was an excellent experience that we thoroughly appreciated. Riding through the jungle on a beautiful horse with someone so familiar with the area, the plants, and the horses was truly special. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking a more personalized Belize experience. Thank you!
Riding at Outback Trails was a fantastic experience. Michelle and her team manage an excellent operation in Stann Creek, just off the Hopkins road. The horses are beautiful, and our guide Brady was friendly, patient, and accommodating as he showed us around their expansive property. We highly recommend this activity, which is also very affordably priced.
Yadi and the horse owner, whose name I’m sorry I can’t recall, were both wonderful. They were friendly and made the ride engaging, even allowing me to race my horse against theirs at the end. I hadn't ridden in years and I’m eager to do it again. I highly recommend this experience.
This experience was truly one of the best I've ever had. Brendan, our tour guide, was exceptional; his insights into the surroundings, plant life, wildlife, and history were impressive. The horses were wonderful, with each rider matched to a horse that suited them perfectly. I would rate this experience more than 5 stars if possible.
