1Customizable private tour with a focus on your preferred wineries and schedule — includes behind-the-scenes tastings in beautiful Marlborough scenery.
“My wife and I arranged a private wine tour and it was an incredible experience. Darlene, our tour guide, was outstanding—she had a wealth of knowledge and ensured we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We visited several smaller, family-owned vineyards, which we appreciated. I highly recommend this tour.”— Conal H
2A scenic flight over Queen Charlotte, Kenepuru, and Pelorus Sounds with a stop at a remote beach for 1.5 hours of exploration.
“My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this excursion while cruising around New Zealand. Pelorus Air, a family-run business, was fantastic in accommodating our specific flight time needs. On the day of the tour, they were punctual and exactly where they promised to be. The flight was incredible, showcasing breathtaking water, islands, and inlets. Landing on the grass runway by the beach was a highlight, and we loved the chance to explore the island, where they reside. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.”— ShawnVandy
3Four hours in a comfortable van — taste four local wines across three or four cellar doors, with an optional stop at a chocolate factory.
“Sherri, the owner and operator, led this tour with friendliness and punctuality during pickup. She was knowledgeable about the area and very responsive. We visited charming family-owned wineries.”— Joan_B
4A full day of sea kayaking across Queen Charlotte Sound, stopping for meals on a sandy beach with a knowledgeable guide.
“My husband and I took the overnight kayak trip to Lochmara Lodge. On the first day, we paddled with the day group and our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. The map was quite useful once we separated from the group and it clearly showed landmarks. We were fortunate with the weather, having to paddle against the wind only in the final stretch to Lochmara. The Lodge is stunning and makes the stay worthwhile—it's a beautiful location. On Day 2, we paddled back to Picton using the map. We truly enjoyed the experience and are glad we participated.”— Explore17048451605
5Four hours of kayaking in the Queen Charlotte Sound, exploring coves and beaches with a knowledgeable guide and a chance to see wildlife like seals and dolphins.
“We enjoyed perfect weather with calm waters, which enhanced our experience. Our guide was delightful and very supportive. It was a fantastic outing.”— Karin_M
6Half-day wine tour for cruise passengers featuring 4-5 top wineries, includes vineyard stroll and behind-the-scenes winery access.
“This tour was fantastic. Cameron shared a wealth of information about grape cultivation as we traveled through the vineyards. We toured one winery and learned about the vats and barrels involved in the winemaking process. The tastings were a highlight, featuring a variety of interesting options, making it a valuable learning experience. We visited four wineries and enjoyed a delightful lunch at one. The scenery in the area was stunning, adding to the overall experience. It became one of our favorite days in New Zealand.”— ShirleyG227
7Three hours in the water — guided sea kayaking trip around the calm waters of Queen Charlotte Sound with a refreshment stop included.
“Despite the cloudy, windy, and drizzly conditions, we had an amazing time. The views were stunning and I even spotted a seal before it swam away. Although the trip was challenging due to the wind and waves, we felt entirely secure with our patient and supportive guide. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend it, even in less-than-ideal weather. I enjoyed this much more than staying indoors or just walking around in the rain.”— Tiffany_W
8Full day on foot — choose from three trails of varying lengths in the Marlborough Sounds, round-trip boat transport included.
“My friends had previously explored parts of the Queen Charlotte Track, so we were curious to experience it ourselves. We opted for the route from Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove and took the 9am ferry. The pleasant weather made for a beautiful journey with stunning views. Upon arriving at Furneaux Lodge, the trail was well signposted, and we encountered very few hikers heading our way, making for a serene atmosphere. The track was generally manageable, with some inclines and a few landslide areas, but nothing particularly challenging. While several coastal vistas were lovely, much of the hike traverses through wooded sections. Overall, it was a fairly easy four-hour trek, allowing for breaks and photo opportunities, resulting in a pleasant experience. Though not breathtaking, the day concluded nicely with refreshments at Punga Cove before our boat ride back to Picton. It was an enjoyable outing, and I’m glad we participated.”— Ceilings
9A fully-guided small-group tour — visit Motuara Island, cruise Queen Charlotte Sound and spot marine mammals and rare bird species, including dolphins.
“This experience is both well-organized and welcoming. The crew's primary aim is to ensure you see as much as possible. A pod of dusky dolphins was a highlight for us on our return. We also loved spotting fur seals, king shags, blue penguins, and shearwater birds from the boat. On the island, we had close encounters with South Island robins, piwakawaka, saddlebacks, and bell birds. The knowledgeable crew made everything enjoyable, and they were willing to assist with anything. We had a fantastic day.”— Sightsee08372424688
10Two hours cruising the waterways of Queen Charlotte Sound, delivering mail and supplies to residents, with optional stops for sightseeing along the route.
“Our afternoon on the Queen Charlotte Mail Cruise was simply stunning. The calm waters and clear autumn skies created breathtaking scenery that felt almost unreal. Dylan, our skipper, truly enhanced the experience with his insightful commentary and obvious passion for the journey. Watching him engage with the local dogs waiting on jetties for their mail and treats was delightful. This was definitely the highlight of our trip, and I highly recommend it!”— anjac993
