Our day was fantastic! The tour matched the description perfectly, if not exceeded it. Tony, our guide, was very knowledgeable and kept a relaxed pace throughout the experience. We had ample time at each location to savor the tastings and admire the diverse and intriguing settings. We sampled a nice range of wines at every stop, providing a solid overview of Marlborough’s offerings from different vineyards. The format of the tastings made it enjoyable to absorb the information while bonding with other participants, who were all friendly and added to the positive atmosphere. We highly recommend Discovery Wine Tours for an outstanding experience and great value.eazboca

    3. Marlborough wine region tour from Picton for cruise passengers

    4.9· 80 reviews· 5.5 hours

Five to six hours touring Marlborough’s wineries — visit four wineries and a chocolate factory, with sampling of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in a small group of 11.

Gavin, our driver and tour guide, shared an impressive amount of knowledge about wine and the Marlborough Region. He was an outstanding guide whom I would highly recommend. The tour struck a great balance between information, wine tasting, and enjoyment. Visiting four wineries was ideal, and lunch at Saint Clare was a wonderful way to conclude the experience. It was a fantastic time in Marlborough, and the selection of wineries was excellent. I found the small group format far superior to large bus tours with 40 people. Gavin ensured we returned to the ship with ample time. Overall, this was an exceptional tour that I would definitely recommend.Bettyann_C

    5. Greenshell mussel tasting cruise in Marlborough Sounds

    4.8· 54 reviews· 3 hours

Half-day cruise from Picton on Queen Charlotte Sound, featuring local seafood tastings and scenic views.

I highly suggest this experience for anyone who enjoys seafood, boats, and wine. The mussels were the largest and most delicious I've ever tasted. We were two couples in our 30s, and it truly became the highlight of our trip. The service was exceptional—attentive and professional, and the staff was wonderful. Although the weather was unpredictable, the boat was well-sheltered and the crew provided blankets to keep us cozy throughout. The boat itself was impressive. My only recommendation would be to include food and wine pairing options, as that would have enhanced our enjoyment. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience.Emilly_B

We thoroughly enjoyed our day on the water and exploring the island. We would have appreciated an extra hour there to take in the scenery a bit more. The lookout was a definite highlight. Thank you for this wonderful experience.Maike_R
