Kayaking was incredibly enjoyable, despite the windy conditions. We primarily stayed in the bays, which offered protection. Our guide Rachel was both kind and knowledgeable, leading us to see stingrays, eagle rays, reef stars, sea cucumbers, pi shags, royal spoonbills, and many other wonderful animals. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Sounds and Picton.
I had an enjoyable experience. Our guide was friendly, attentive, and shared many fascinating facts about the wildlife and environment of Charlotte Sound. The scenery is stunning, and we saw plenty of birds. Lunch was delicious, but be prepared for it to be tiring, especially in windy conditions, as you may end up completely soaked.
It was a fantastic experience exploring the stunning Picton area from the kayaks. Our guide allowed us to set the pace, which meant we could pause frequently to observe marine life.
The tour was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Tom was an excellent guide, sharing valuable insights about nature and the environment. We kayaked a total of about 17 km, and I can still feel the muscle soreness today.
This was a fantastic kayak adventure in a beautiful setting, expertly led by our incredible guide, Hannah. We were also lucky to enjoy wonderful weather during the trip.
We enjoyed a kayak tour led by Helen, who was fantastic. I highly recommend this experience. It was a small group, filled with interesting stories about the area. Safety was prioritized, and I would definitely do it again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Brady. He was not only knowledgeable but also laid-back and flexible, accommodating our needs perfectly. It was a pleasure to chat with him, and it's clear he is passionate about his work.
My husband and I took the overnight kayak trip to Lochmara Lodge. On the first day, we paddled with the day group and our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. The map was quite useful once we separated from the group and it clearly showed landmarks. We were fortunate with the weather, having to paddle against the wind only in the final stretch to Lochmara. The Lodge is stunning and makes the stay worthwhile—it's a beautiful location. On Day 2, we paddled back to Picton using the map. We truly enjoyed the experience and are glad we participated.
We arranged a 2-day hike along with a 2-day guided kayak adventure. Unfortunately, I had an injury just before starting the trip. The company adjusted my ferry ride to take me straight to the hotel, allowing me to walk the track in reverse that day and hike as much as I could. Since I couldn't participate in the kayaking, they provided alternative options for me. They were very accommodating and supportive throughout.
Our tour guide Rachel was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate as she led us to stunning spots around the sound near Picton. The delicious yet simple food served for morning tea and lunch enhanced this wonderful full-day experience.
