Many tour operators can take you between wineries and discuss the Marlborough area, but few will genuinely connect with you and enhance your experience. Doug stands out as a wonderful person and a key figure in the region. His intelligence, humor, and passion for people made our day enjoyable and insightful. Beyond being a talented singer, he took the time to listen and tailor our last stop to our preferences—taking us to a smaller cellar door where we met the wine-maker. It was expertly arranged. Thank you for making my birthday and our Marlborough trip truly memorable. We appreciate it and hope to meet you in Bali one day. This experience is worth every penny, as the team's genuine care for their guests is evident.teddwake

My husband and I took the overnight kayak trip to Lochmara Lodge. On the first day, we paddled with the day group and our guide was knowledgeable and supportive. The map was quite useful once we separated from the group and it clearly showed landmarks. We were fortunate with the weather, having to paddle against the wind only in the final stretch to Lochmara. The Lodge is stunning and makes the stay worthwhile—it's a beautiful location. On Day 2, we paddled back to Picton using the map. Gavin, our driver and tour guide, shared an impressive amount of knowledge about wine and the Marlborough Region. He was an outstanding guide whom I would highly recommend. The tour struck a great balance between information, wine tasting, and enjoyment. Visiting four wineries was ideal, and lunch at Saint Clare was a wonderful way to conclude the experience. It was a fantastic time in Marlborough, and the selection of wineries was excellent. I found the small group format far superior to large bus tours with 40 people.
