Our group of ten had a fantastic day, thanks to the beautiful weather and our wonderful guide, Gavin. The four boutique wineries we visited were outstanding, and Gavin's expertise truly enhanced the experience. Each winery offered high-quality tastings, and Fromm particularly excelled by providing beautiful glassware that added to the enjoyment.
James served as our driver for a group of 11, and we experienced wonderful weather during our visit to the diverse wineries. This excursion has been our top choice in New Zealand. At one of the stops, we bought a snack box with crackers, meats, cheeses, and fruit, which helped curb our hunger. Although I don’t drink, I really appreciated being in nature, exploring the countryside, and connecting with the locals.
We had a fantastic afternoon in Marlborough sampling excellent wines. Everything went smoothly; the pickup was easy, and Phil was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. He was such a nice person. We visited four vineyards, tasting four to five wines at each, and the perfect weather made sitting among the vines an outstanding way to spend our time. This experience was one of the highlights of our 14-day cruise in New Zealand—truly wonderful!
Be sure to have a substantial breakfast since lunch is served only at the fourth winery. Our guide provided excellent insights into local history and shared valuable explanations throughout the tour. Overall, the wineries were impressive and offered a nice overview of the wines available. The small group size (10) allowed us to visit several family-owned wineries, some with deep roots in the Marlborough region. Although it was a sunny yet windy day, the wineries ensured we had comfortable seating. Our lunch included a shared charcuterie box filled with excellent cheeses, various crackers, meats, dried fruits, and tasty fig and pear jam. We returned to our starting point with ample time to explore the town before boarding the ship.
This wine tour was fantastic and I highly recommend it. At each of the four wineries, they had tables prepared for us, and they provided detailed descriptions of the wines we tasted. The quality of the wine was excellent.
Gavin, our driver and tour guide, shared an impressive amount of knowledge about wine and the Marlborough Region. He was an outstanding guide whom I would highly recommend. The tour struck a great balance between information, wine tasting, and enjoyment. Visiting four wineries was ideal, and lunch at Saint Clare was a wonderful way to conclude the experience. It was a fantastic time in Marlborough, and the selection of wineries was excellent. I found the small group format far superior to large bus tours with 40 people. Gavin ensured we returned to the ship with ample time. Overall, this was an exceptional tour that I would definitely recommend.
I had a fantastic experience on the tour led by Karen. Each winery offered something unique, and the lunch at St Clair’s was delightful, followed by chocolate for dessert. It was far superior to the large bus tours. I highly recommend this small group tour.
This experience was a true highlight of my journey! Even though our time was limited, Gavin shared a wealth of knowledge about the wine industry and added a touch of humor. The tour felt personal, fostering connections among everyone. I strongly recommend this place.
Gavin was an excellent tour guide, providing insightful commentary about the various areas and wineries. The experience was enjoyable and entertaining.
We had a delightful small group winery tour with Nic in Marlborough. Her extensive knowledge made the experience even more enjoyable as we visited some beautiful wineries.
