  3. Kayak tour of Nickajack Bat Cave near Chattanooga, Chattanooga3

    3. Kayak tour of Nickajack Bat Cave near Chattanooga

    4.9· 301 reviews· 2 hours

Three-mile guided kayak tour on Nickajack Lake, featuring wildlife insights and a sunset view of 100,000 gray bats emerging from the cave.

I visited in April, and while the wind made the initial part of the trip a good workout, it wasn't overly challenging. We got an up-close view of Ospreys and their nests, even witnessing one catch a fish. The sunset was gorgeous and lasted quite a while. We also had the fun surprise of seeing two trains pass by. When the bats emerged, the lake became eerily still and quiet, likely as the insects tried to avoid being eaten. Our guide, Margaret, provided a wealth of information, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I recommend bringing sunglasses, something to tie back long hair, and perhaps a change of dry clothes for afterward. I wholeheartedly suggest this experience to others and hope to return with friends.Tara_T

    7. Ghost tour and pub crawl in Chattanooga

    4.7· 54 reviews· 2 hours

Two-hour tour of haunted locations and pubs in Chattanooga’s Historic District with stories of local spirits; drinks at your expense.

My wife and I are fans of ghost tours, and combining it with a pub crawl made this experience perfect for us. Having participated in haunted pub crawls in multiple locations, we found this tour to be exceptional. Our guide, Mariah, was engaging and provided great insights into Chattanooga's interesting yet tumultuous past. The group consisted of two other couples, which added to the fun. On the 4th of July, we started our adventure early. Mariah, a skilled storyteller, shared captivating tales of historical events, including stories about murderers and mayhem without spoiling the details. Each of the three stops offered us a chance to have at least one drink, and with Mariah’s activities, the tour kept us thoroughly engaged. The tour lasted about two hours, with minimal walking required, exploring downtown and some hidden gems we might have missed otherwise. This was a truly enjoyable experience that we wholeheartedly recommend.492RyanB

Two hours, guided walking tour through downtown — explore haunted sites and hear chilling stories of Chattanooga's darker past.

I had an incredible experience on the ghost tour led by Jason. His passion for the subject was evident, and his storytelling was both engaging and appropriately spooky without being excessive. What impressed me most was his extensive knowledge—not just about the ghost tales, but also the historical context surrounding them. He kept the entire group captivated throughout the tour. Jason’s sense of humor added a lighthearted touch, making the atmosphere enjoyable rather than just eerie. He was very friendly, open to questions, and ensured that everyone felt welcomed. It’s clear he truly wants to provide a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone, regardless of their belief in ghosts or love for storytelling. If Jason is your guide, you’re in for an excellent evening.Mei-Ling T

    4.6· 37 reviews· 1.5 hours

One and a half hours on stuffed-animal scooters — explore Chattanooga's history, including the Walnut Street Bridge and Bluff View Arts district, with photo stops and local stories.

The rideables were enjoyable and simple to handle. Our tour guide was excellent and well-informed. I rated it three stars due to my booking being rescheduled twice. While the first change was understandable, upon arriving at the new time, we discovered it had been delayed by another 30 minutes without prior notification. Given the ongoing inconvenience, we should have been offered some discount. This experience makes me hesitant to book again.fidellep
