The exhibits are impressive, and the historical insights are excellent. The exploration doesn't take much time, and it's likely more suited for adults than young children. A heartfelt thank you to all our veterans.
As retired military personnel, we appreciate exploring military-related sites. Our recent visit was enjoyable, with Clint providing an excellent introduction to the museum upon arrival. We spent a couple of hours learning about Tennessee's heroes. Earlier in the week, we walked the Veterans Bridge and visited the Chickamauga Battlefield and Trail of Tears sites, which added significant context to the history. It seems Chattanooga could enhance its marketing of local history to attract more tourists. We strongly recommend this museum to anyone visiting.
This is a fantastic museum dedicated to honoring Medal of Honor recipients from Tennessee. We had a great time chatting with the volunteers and exploring the impressive collection on display.
We had a great time at this smaller-than-expected museum, which impressed us with its exceptional quality. The history of the Medal of Honor, from its origin, was thoroughly detailed. As someone interested in military history, I was unaware of the number of recipients, especially those from Tennessee, although there were others from different states as well. Some recipients were famous, but many were lesser-known. I appreciated the video interviews featuring recipients who spoke modestly about the character they developed in childhood, often taught by mentors or teachers rather than parents who were busy working long hours. It was uplifting for me to see that the virtues these men embodied are timeless and serve as a reminder of true patriotism. Such values are still required today in our politically divided climate. The divisions that exist now didn’t contribute to the greatness of America nor to the bravery of these men. The interviews with surviving recipients underscored that doing the right thing often requires courage and is usually not the easy choice. I discovered intriguing stories during the tour and highly recommend it. This unexpectedly positive experience has inspired me to delve deeper into the subject once I return home. We also found ample parking just a block away, and the area felt safe and welcoming.
The space may seem small, but it holds an abundance of history and information. The exhibits are well-crafted, and the narratives are delivered with clarity and precision. It's truly a hidden gem near the Tennessee Aquarium.
My wife and I found the exhibit to be fantastic and very enlightening. The only thing I would change is having the video on the main wall loop faster, as I couldn't view all of them before we had to leave. There were many touching stories of heroism and ultimate sacrifice. It's definitely worth visiting.
The museum is fantastic, with engaging displays and a straightforward layout. Unfortunately, the service is very poor. I tried to arrange a tour for a school group and made 10 attempts via phone and email without any response. They seem disinterested in welcoming visitors. I wouldn’t recommend trying to schedule anything here if you’re in downtown Chattanooga.
This museum offers a heartfelt homage to Medal of Honor recipients, spanning from the Civil War to the War on Terror. While it does not cover all 5,000 honorees, many are from Tennessee. Regardless of your origins, you will feel a sense of pride and gratitude for those who bravely served the country.
Today, my class and I had an amazing time. The tour guides made this field trip incredibly enjoyable. I'm grateful for all the artifacts, especially the fascinating gallery. A special thanks to the guides for sharing so much new information. This is a memorable trip that I will always cherish. Blayke Williams from RPCA Lela Owens class.
The museum was fantastic, particularly for history enthusiasts. My daughter has a passion for history, and my father served in WWII. I appreciated the personal stories of the individuals who received the National Medal of Honor.
