    1. Historic tour of Shepherd of the Hills

    4.8· 82 reviews· 1 hours

One hour guided tour through historic sites at Shepherd of the Hills, transported by Jeep-drawn tram.

Branson, Missouri, is a vibrant mix of go-karts, flashy T-shirts, and uniquely designed theaters. However, if you venture beyond the surface with just sixteen dollars, there’s a place where history still echoes. On the Shepherd of the Hills Farm Tour guided by Cowboy John, a man who embodies the tales he tells because his family lived them, you’ll experience real history. Rather than delivering a rehearsed narrative, he offers heartfelt recollections filled with humor and a genuine passion that truly resonates. We visited Old Matt’s Cabin, a historical site where you can feel the past. The air is thick with memories from a time when life was tough and solitude was common. Then comes Inspiration Point, the second-highest location in Southwest Missouri, where the incredible views reflect what inspired Wright's impactful writing. Next, we saw Ike’s Post Office, a small yet significant structure that once served as the community’s connection to the outside world. It’s unpretentious and offers a sense of resilience. We were also granted a glimpse of the Old Mill Theatre, a large outdoor venue that has hosted performances for decades. For the cost of an average meal, you gain an authentic experience of the Ozarks' soul. The tour is truly immersive and genuine, making it a valuable investment.rukidden

We had a fantastic experience! Our first destination was a winery, followed by another winery where the guys were thrilled about the available beer flights. Next, we visited a distillery that everyone loved. We concluded the evening with a delightful dinner. It was a fun way to explore various venues and sample different products, all while enjoying time with friends.89gretchenr

    3. Branson scenic and historical tour

    4.7· 114 reviews· 3 hours

Two hours in a luxury vehicle — highlights include Table Rock Dam and the College of the Ozarks with a knowledgeable guide-driver sharing local history and anecdotes.

Our driver, Mike, was exceptional and made our excursion memorable. He was polite, humorous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Since my husband is 83, Mike ensured he sat up front for easier entry and exit, while I sat across the aisle, which worked perfectly. There were about five other couples with us, all of whom were pleasant and sociable. This tour was a fantastic way to kick off our 50th wedding anniversary trip. Although a bit pricey for seniors, it was worth every penny. The van was comfortable and clean, and Mike ensured everyone's comfort throughout the 3-hour journey, which we would have loved to extend. It was a wonderful experience with an excellent host and an enjoyable tour.janetwR1344LW
