I visited in April, and while the wind made the initial part of the trip a good workout, it wasn't overly challenging. We got an up-close view of Ospreys and their nests, even witnessing one catch a fish. The sunset was gorgeous and lasted quite a while. We also had the fun surprise of seeing two trains pass by. When the bats emerged, the lake became eerily still and quiet, likely as the insects tried to avoid being eaten. Our guide, Margaret, provided a wealth of information, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I recommend bringing sunglasses, something to tie back long hair, and perhaps a change of dry clothes for afterward. I wholeheartedly suggest this experience to others and hope to return with friends.
The guides were exceptionally friendly and engaging, displaying a genuine passion for their work. The experience was informative, enjoyable, and truly beautiful.
The guide was exceptional, with a deep understanding of the wildlife and the waters. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone. It was a fantastic afternoon.
I had a great time on this trip! It was my first experience with kayaking, and the team helped me get the hang of it. I also saw bats and lots of other wildlife.
We spotted osprey and possibly some greens, along with bats. The tour was fantastic; our guide was patient and tailored the experience to our interests. He also shared interesting historical insights about the region.
Experience in kayaking is essential for this trip. You're expected to keep close to other boats, make frequent turns, and maneuver in reverse. The claim that no prior experience is needed is misleading. The lake has a current that makes it challenging to navigate. The itinerary could have been streamlined by starting later and focusing just on the bat cave. Casey, the guide, was wonderful and very supportive; without her, I would have been quite overwhelmed. The beauty of the lake is undeniable.
Every moment was valuable. The guides were outstanding—very knowledgeable and engaging. The sight of the bats at the end was stunning. It was a fantastic experience for the whole family.
The sunset paddling experience was highly enjoyable, and witnessing the bats swarm out of the cave in the evening was truly incredible.
The kayak trip was quite simple, and the bats were truly the standout feature of the brief adventure. Our guide was both amiable and well-informed.
This was a tranquil and stunning experience. Anne served as an excellent guide. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this tour to go for it.
