2Two hours of ocean rafting — guided exploration of Skagway's coastline with locals who know the region intimately.
“Choosing this excursion was the best decision I made. The guides were fantastic, and I got to see bald eagles, ducks, and seals. The waterfalls were stunning, and the donuts were exceptional. It was the highlight of my Alaskan cruise, and even the drive through town was enjoyable and informative. You will be pleased with this choice.”— toris165
3Four hours by boat — cruise through Lynn Canal, see waterfalls and wildlife, with a stop at a glacial harbor and local smoked salmon tasting.
“The crew was fantastic—fun, entertaining, and knowledgeable. We witnessed stunning waterfalls, a few baby bald eagles, white goats, and sea otters. It was a wonderful day overall.”— Catherine_P
4Two hours of sled dog rides with 16 trained huskies, plus time to cuddle with Alaskan puppy candidates for Iditarod champions.
“This was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We met our guide Lou in downtown and picked up a few more guests on the way to the Musher camp. Lou provided plenty of history about the area and pointed out various eagles and wildlife. Upon arrival at the camp, we took a unique vehicle up the mountain. The dogs were thrilled to see us, knowing they'd get to run. After our trail ride with the dogs and the musher, Matt, we had the chance to meet the dog team and ask questions. The highlight was definitely snuggling with the puppies. Although we wished for more time with them, the visit was outstanding and very informative. I would highly recommend this excursion and would love to do it again if I return to Alaska.”— terrig513
5Three hours, 18 miles on a scooter — explore Skagway's coastline and history with stops for photos and potential wildlife sightings.
“This activity takes you on genuine roads frequented by larger vehicles. It's important to be confident in your driving skills and adhere to traffic regulations. Our guide offered great insights on operating the motorbike, including signaling and braking techniques. We navigated routes that unveiled stunning and remarkable sights. I'm really pleased I opted for this unique tour.”— Pamela_H
6Full-day tour by bus — visit Carcross, Emerald Lake, and more plus extensive photo stops throughout the Yukon and British Columbia.
“Pam was fantastic! It's unfortunate that we missed Bailey, but Pam shared wonderful stories, and our trip was really enjoyable. We even spotted two bears.”— Jennifer_F
7Four and a half hours, mini coach transport — scenic views en route to sled dog experience and gold panning, with wildlife spotting opportunities along the way.
“This experience can only be described as awesome. Our guide, Chris, enhanced our adventure from the beginning by providing a comprehensive overview of Skagway. We encountered three live black bears on the Alaska-Canada highway. At our first destination, we enjoyed cuddling some adorable puppies before taking an ATV ride with an experienced Iditarod musher and her team of 16 dogs. The stunning mountains along the route were breathtaking, and Chris shared fascinating historical insights about the lakes. We concluded back in Skagway, immersing ourselves in the magic of the gold rush. Chris truly made this adventure remarkable. Thank you, Chris and Klondike Tours, for such a tremendous experience!”— Samir_J
8A 60-minute boat ride plus a 1/4-mile trek leads to canoeing at Davidson Glacier, watch for wildlife along the way.
“We chose this expedition over a train ride to better engage with Alaska, and it was an excellent decision. My husband, our three kids (ages 9-14), and I all enjoyed it immensely. The hour-long boat ride featured a friendly and knowledgeable naturalist who shared insights about the land, water, and wildlife, including seeing many cute seals on the shores and bald eagles soaring above. While we didn't spot any whales or otters, we truly appreciated the stunning scenery. After reaching the beach, we took a short ride in an old school bus, where three enthusiastic guides helped us don rain gear and boots. They regularly reside on the island with limited comforts and each led a canoe carrying about ten individuals. We canoed to another location, explored a small rapids area, and then paddled to the glacier. The guides deemed it safe for us to beach the canoes and walk towards the glacier, which was breathtaking with its vivid blues. This experience was highly worthwhile, enhancing our Alaska adventure. I recommend booking with Alaska X rather than through the cruise line for a less crowded and likely more affordable option.”— Beth_C
