Chris was an outstanding host, knowledgeable and engaging throughout the entire excursion. He enriched the experience with local insights at various stops. The dog mushing camp owner, Michelle, along with her team, was very welcoming and provided a thorough explanation of the sport, which many of us only recognize from films.
Booking this adventure for my family through Castle was a great experience. Our driver Kayla was incredible, knowledgeable, and ensured we had a fantastic time. I recommend booking directly with the tour company for a more personalized experience. They truly are the best.
It was an incredible experience. Our guide provided us with a wealth of information about the region. I would definitely participate again.
I had an enjoyable day with Chris, our guide. He is well-informed about Skagway, its surroundings, and the Musher camp. Chris pointed out the best photo opportunities during our journey to and from the camp. Visiting the musher camp was fascinating, and I appreciated learning more about it, as well as experiencing a "sled" ride with the dogs, although it uses an ATV-like vehicle since there's no snow. I would suggest this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this cozy sledding camp and training facility, thanks to the skilled guides and adorable puppies. The beautiful Yukon landscape surrounding the camp was breathtaking, and everyone we encountered was warm and welcoming. Our 9-year-old had a fantastic time!
An excellent tour that provided a fantastic experience with the sled dogs amidst stunning natural scenery during the sled dog pull.
We chose to book with Skagway tours to support local businesses, but our tour ended up being associated with Viator. Skagway's price was $580 compared to Viator's $760. We attempted to cancel the double booking, but ran into problems because of the wrong date on Viator's end for May 6, the day we weren’t in Alaska. Now, we have to deal with the hassle of challenging this expensive incorrect tour with Capital One. It's crucial to have reliable customer service to address such errors.
This was a unique adventure. Our guide Kayla was friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about the area, sharing fascinating facts as we traveled. She took us to some beautiful spots for photos and took her time with us. The dog sledding experience wasn’t what we initially anticipated, as the sled was a motorized vehicle that the dogs were connected to, meaning they didn’t do all the pulling. While it was different from our expectations, we still found it engaging. After we rode, the musher shared insights about the 1000-mile dog sled races she participates in, which was truly captivating; she is quite an inspiring figure. We also had the chance to meet adorable three-week-old puppies. There were rustic toilets available, which served their purpose. All staff and dogs were friendly. If you enjoy beautiful landscapes and dogs, this excursion is perfect for you. Just remember to come prepared for muddy conditions and basic facilities, with sturdy shoes and warm clothes that can handle getting dirty. Overall, it was a good experience and offered something a bit different.
Chris displayed impressive knowledge throughout the tour. The journey into Canada was a delightful surprise. Don't forget to bring your passports.
This experience can only be described as awesome. Our guide, Chris, enhanced our adventure from the beginning by providing a comprehensive overview of Skagway. We encountered three live black bears on the Alaska-Canada highway. At our first destination, we enjoyed cuddling some adorable puppies before taking an ATV ride with an experienced Iditarod musher and her team of 16 dogs. The stunning mountains along the route were breathtaking, and Chris shared fascinating historical insights about the lakes. We concluded back in Skagway, immersing ourselves in the magic of the gold rush. Chris truly made this adventure remarkable. Thank you, Chris and Klondike Tours, for such a tremendous experience!
