    1. Hiking to Hovdsundet Beach in Bodø

    5.0· 10 reviews· 6 hours

A challenging hike to Hovdsundet Beach, approximately 4 hours round trip, ideal for experienced backcountry hikers seeking remote coastal views.

In my view, this is undoubtedly the top attraction in Bodo. The stunning view at the mountain summit is truly awe-inspiring. The round trip took me 2.5 hours, including 30 minutes in the dark, and as a 61-year-old, I found the trek to be unexpectedly challenging and dangerous. I made numerous mistakes, so I’ll share some tips to help you prepare: wear proper boots, carry plenty of water and snacks, start early to avoid darkness, don’t hike alone, keep your phone charged, and avoid going if it’s wet or about to rain. If I hadn't encountered two kind 21-year-old Norwegian girls, I might not have made it back! Being well-prepared will enhance your experience. The trek has many tough and risky areas, so stay alert and focused. What you’ll find at the top is nature in its finest form. From the summit, you can see much of the beach and distant mountains, but if you head to the left, there’s a small ledge that offers a complete view of the beach, though the mountains aren't visible from below. I recommend visiting both spots for varied perspectives in your photos and videos. This is a must-do experience.jordanellie41

    2. eBike tour to Ausvika beach with northern lights viewing

    5.0· 6 reviews· 3 hours

Three hours, eBike ride followed by a hike — bonfire at Ausvika beach, potential aurora sightings, local conditions dictate timing.

My experience on this tour with Ola was truly remarkable. I aimed to push my limits and see the Northern Lights, which had long been on my bucket list. Although I felt apprehensive since I hadn't ridden an e-bike recently and the mountain was tough for me, Ola was incredibly patient, allowing me to take breaks and boosting my confidence. We witnessed stunning lights during our descent, an unforgettable experience that I will always treasure.42kaseys

A guided walking tour across sandy beaches — explore Norway's coastal beauty while embracing the tradition of Friluftsliv.

The walk along the Norwegian coastline was stunning. It was an easy trek, not too long or strenuous. We received spikes for the icy conditions and headlamps for visibility. The organization was highly professional, and our guides were friendly, sharing plenty of information about the region.Suus119
  2. Whale watching safari from Andenes in Vesterålen, Bodo5

    5. Whale watching safari from Andenes in Vesterålen

    4.0· 3 reviews

Three to four hours on a spacious vessel — observe whales in the open ocean with expert guides, heated lounges, and a viewing deck.

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon. Although our departure was delayed from 11 am to 1 pm due to morning swells, the experience was magical with beautiful sunshine. Our guides, especially Alex and Ruud, were outstanding and attentive. We closely observed three sperm whales, while two others dived before we could see them. Our guides made efforts to find one more sperm whale, and we were excited to encounter two groups of orcas. It was truly an unforgettable day for our family. The Alba boat’s heated cabin was perfect for our 20-month-old baby. Thanks to Alex, Ruud, and the entire Arctic Whale Tour Andenes team.Culture25464784200
