Our guide Jeremy was punctual and easy to locate. He was a safe driver who shared plenty about himself and the local area. Unlike some guides who just go through the motions, he was truly engaged and focused on enhancing our experience, even stopping for me to take photos of cattle. The horses were incredibly well-trained. I felt nervous at first, but they turned out to be gentle and responsive. Our trail guide was friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable about the region. Lunch featured a fantastic burger, and although the singing cowboy isn't my style, he adjusted to the mood and opted for casual conversation instead of singing. The gallery we visited had many intriguing pieces. Even though I don't usually buy souvenirs, I ended up purchasing two items. I was very satisfied with this experience and plan to book with Desert Wonders again on my next visit to Laughlin.Becky55110
  4. Historic Route 66 tour from Laughlin to Oatman, Kingman7

    7. Historic Route 66 tour from Laughlin to Oatman

    4.9· 114 reviews

This full-day tour explores Route 66 with stops at museums, scenic viewpoints, and a chance to meet wild burros in Oatman.

In early October, my husband and I had a great tour with Brandon, just the three of us. We drove to Kingman, explored the Route 66 and Electric Vehicle Museum, and then headed to Oatman, taking in the historic Route 66 along the way. Brandon shared his extensive knowledge of the mining camps, Route 66, and the Black Mountains, which enhanced our experience. He is a remarkable guide and knowledgeable environmentalist, making the day unforgettable. Oatman was a highlight, with its famous free-roaming burros that Brandon knew by name. We dined at a historic hotel where Clark Gable and Carol Lombard used to play poker. The food was great, and the interior, adorned with over half a million signed dollar bills, was fascinating. There’s an intriguing story behind this tradition that started with the early miners. I highly recommend calling Brandon for a tour to learn more. For a wonderful experience, reach out to Desert Wonder Adventures, LLC. Bob Walton, the owner, is fantastic to work with and has excellent staff who ensure the best possible tours. We even returned in early November for another memorable trip with Eddie, exploring the west rim of the Grand Canyon and Joshua Tree Forest. A big thank you to Desert Wonder Adventures; we’re excited to come back soon.Sightsee642852

This trip was absolutely incredible, and I’m really happy we went! We visited on May 31 and encountered cold weather, so it's important to dress properly. The combination of 40-degree water and wind can make it chilly. Expect a lengthy day due to the bus rides into and out of the canyon, but the experience is truly worth it! Our guide Kyle provided insightful commentary on the history and beauty of this amazing landmark. It's a journey my family and I will cherish forever.Tonya_N
