We enjoyed an incredible Grand Canyon helicopter tour followed by a boat ride on the Colorado River. While there's an optional meal, we thought it was unnecessary. The experience was fantastic, starting with a hotel pick-up and a shuttle to Boulder for a light plane ride on a Cessna Caravan, where our friendly pilot was Riley. We landed near the Grand Canyon and transferred to a helicopter that descended 4,000 feet to the Colorado River. From there, a local guide took us on a pontoon boat ride, which was memorable (I wish I could remember his name). The helicopter team ensured our safety throughout. After that, we took a shuttle to the Skywalk, although I’d say this part isn't essential; it’s a nice idea but not worth it. The views from the canyon rim are stunning, especially at Guano Point. Finally, we returned to the plane with pilot Riley and took a shuttle bus back to Las Vegas. The operation was professional and seamless throughout the day, which lasted about 7 hours. While it was pricey, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would highly recommend.
The helicopter pilot lacked friendliness and didn’t greet us or provide any commentary throughout the journey. We also missed out on a photo opportunity with the helicopter, as shown in the tour flyers. The entry and exit felt rather subdued, but the ride itself was smooth. The boat tour, however, was enjoyable and the driver offered good information.
My husband was visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time, and I emphasized the importance of experiencing it in person. During our time-limited road trip, we drove from Vegas to the west rim. The helicopter and pontoon ride lasted approximately 1.5 hours. Although our helicopter pilot didn’t engage with us much, we were fortunate to have the space to ourselves, offering fantastic views. We needed to inquire about the pontoon boat location, but the guide on the boat was knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, it was well-priced for the experience we had.
I was greatly disappointed after the helicopter tour. The add-ons were not provided as promised. Even more frustrating is that I'm not getting a response regarding the $220 charge. It feels like a scam.
This experience was incredible! The guides were fantastic, and the boat driver went above and beyond to take extra time for our photos and videos.
The experience was top-notch. The guides were fantastic, and I had a wonderful time. I would certainly do this again.
We chose this tour to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and it was a fantastic experience. The service from Papillon was outstanding; they were supportive and responsive to our questions from the start. On tour day, we first visited Guano Point, which was unforgettable. As it was our special occasion, the staff arranged for just the two of us in the helicopter on the way down. The pontoon ride along the Colorado River was breathtaking, and our guide shared fascinating insights throughout. After the pontoon trip, water was provided while we waited for our helicopter ride back, and everything was well-coordinated by the staff. I highly recommend booking with Papillon. Thank you!
The helicopter flight was breathtaking. I found myself in tears as we descended into the Grand Canyon – it was so beautiful and the ride was smooth. The pilot was quiet but respectful, and the pontoon boat captain was friendly and took pictures of us on the boat. I'm glad we captured selfies with the helicopter in the background since they weren't provided.
The helicopter flight was enjoyable! However, neither pilot communicated much during the journey, and I was surprised we didn't have proper headphones. The trip down and back was brief and quiet, but the pilots were safe and skilled. We also had a short boat ride on the Colorado River, and our driver was fantastic, sharing plenty of interesting history and facts about the area.
Incredible experience with a fantastic team and wonderful pilots. The skipper was exceptional. It was my first time at the Grand Canyon, and when we went over the edge, I was moved to tears. My entire family was amazed.
