Heritage walks, museum days, temple complexes, and the kind of guides who explain why a place matters rather than reciting dates. The cultural side of Green Bay & Door County, paced for actual seeing.
1Two hours of cultural discussion plus a hands-on pierogi-making experience, finished with dinner in an inviting setting.
“My daughter gifted me the Polish Cultural Workshop for Christmas 2024, and we attended on April 4th. It was not only fascinating and educational but also a lot of fun for both of us. With my grandparents having emigrated from Poland to Milwaukee, I learned about Poland’s shifting borders over the centuries, which clarified the conflicting census data about my grandmother’s birthplace. The workshop addressed the destruction of Warsaw during World War II, featured Lech Walesa’s legacy, and highlighted St. Pope John Paul II. I even discovered a passion for Pierogi and went back for seconds. I highly recommend this workshop for anyone with Polish ancestry or anyone curious about this wonderful country. I returned home eager to plan a visit to Poland with my wife. The experience brought my daughter and me even closer as we connected over stories of my mother and grandmother, making it a truly unforgettable evening.”— P487VKtimp

10Door County’s northern peninsula is a blend of small coastal villages, quirky oddities, and natural beauty. This self-guided driving tour takes you through the county’s most scenic landscapes, from Bailey’s Harbor on Lake Michigan to Fish Creek on Green Bay, while you listen to fascinating stories along the way. The tour starts at Anclam Town Park in Bailey’s Harbor. I’ll show you the area where Door County’s settlement began, when Captain Justice Bailey sought shelter from a storm in 1848. As you drive along the peninsula, you’ll travel through historic fishing villages, and visit scenic overlooks perched high above the water. Once you’ve completed a loop of the northern thumb, including stops at Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, and Fish Creek, the tour ends at Wood Orchard Market near Egg Harbor.
