I highly recommend this historical tour at Hearthstone. It was a wonderful experience, although it got a bit warm during the summer since the house doesn't have air conditioning, but it was definitely worthwhile. The volunteers provided an excellent guided tour, and I truly appreciated the experience.
The house is incredible! The docent seemed to have a personal connection with the original inhabitants and displayed impressive knowledge and enthusiasm for their history. His passion and willingness to engage with us were particularly memorable. You will leave this house with a solid understanding of everyone who once lived there, including Mary, the cook. Just a note, the house lacks air conditioning, and I visited on one of the hottest days of the year. However, fans were available in most rooms, which provided some relief, and for those needing to sit, a couple of chairs were offered. Our host was very thoughtful and accommodating. I highly recommend adding this to your must-see list.
George was a fantastic and enthusiastic tour guide. His knowledge of the history surrounding the house, the area, the era, and the significant figures and families connected to the residence was truly impressive. The experience was captivating. I hope George finds the blueprints of the Hearthstone House soon!
The house was stunning and impeccably maintained. Our guide was both entertaining and well-informed. As seniors, we only paid $9 for admission, which was a great value. Traveling from Milwaukee, we found Appleton impressive, with its friendly and welcoming residents.
The tour was excellent, led by the director who was incredibly knowledgeable. He extended the tour by 45 minutes to provide more insights into the Rodger's family history and Edison's role in their lives. I learned a lot about Appleton as well. It was worth every penny, and I would definitely recommend this tour.
Visiting this stunning property is definitely worthwhile. The tour is extensive, and the staff is both friendly and knowledgeable, making for a lovely Sunday afternoon outing.
This tour is fantastic, featuring a beautiful house with numerous fascinating attributes. The craftsmanship in the woodworking is exceptional. It's truly a delightful experience.
The experience was both enjoyable and educational. I appreciated learning about Hearthstone and the history of Appleton. I highly recommend that everyone should participate.
Inquire about everything you observe; the guide is well-versed in all the details. There are numerous intriguing artifacts throughout the antique house that enhance the historical experience.
David, our guide, was fantastic. He shared a wealth of historical information. It's hard to believe that Appleton, WI, was home to the first fully electric house in the world.
