“The tour operator was highly efficient and maintained good communication leading up to our arrival. The meeting point was conveniently located next to our ship. Our guide, Manny, was exceptional—friendly and very knowledgeable. He tailored the tour to include the attractions we were interested in, accommodating our desire for a short hike. If you'd like to visit the artisan shops, that can be arranged too. Experiencing Cape Breton in the fall is breathtaking, and having it guided by Manny on a private tour made it even more enjoyable.”— Karen_H

6A full-day exploration of the Cabot Trail — scenic coastal views, local food stops, and highlights of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
“I went on this tour yesterday, and it was truly unforgettable. Our guide, Harry, was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and approachable. His passion for sharing stories, history, and hidden treasures was evident. The tour was well-paced, comfortable, and thoughtfully organized. Considering the forecasted rain, Harry started on the West side before moving to the East to avoid the downpour. We had ample opportunities to take photos and appreciate the stunning views without feeling rushed. Harry's commentary made the lengthy drive enjoyable, filled with local insights, humor, and interesting facts that animated the trail. I also valued the personal touches—Harry ensured everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves with thoughtful stops. By the end, it felt like a road trip with friends rather than just a tour. If you're in Cape Breton and want to explore the Cabot Trail stress-free, I highly recommend Cabot Discovery Tours. Be sure to ask for Harry; he truly enhances the experience.”— MJa9_88
7Two hours at the Fortress of Louisbourg, featuring a costumed guide, exploring working 17th-century town life, including the bakery and blacksmith shop.
“During our cruise stop in Sydney, Nova Scotia, my husband and another couple joined this tour. Our guide, Jim, provided excellent insights about his hometown. The drive to the Louisbourg Fortress was enjoyable, especially with perfect weather. The fortress itself was a highlight of our trip. We were captivated by the reenactors portraying the French settlers from the mid-1700s. It took us around 2.5 to 3 hours to explore, and we loved every moment. Before our visit, Jim took us to a local bakery for lunch, and we had a pleasant picnic on the fortress lawns. Afterward, Jim highlighted many local attractions, including Havenside with its stunning lighthouse, while sharing stories about Sydney and his upbringing there. We were extremely satisfied with Jim and the tour, especially since it was his first one. Great job, Jim, and thank you for a memorable day!”— 231sandees

9A self-guided audio adventure — solve a murder mystery at 10 locations across Cape Breton Island, suitable for solo or group participation.
“Having only a few hours in Sydney, this was a great way to see the city. While it wasn't very informative, it allowed us to tour around at our own pace. I would certainly consider doing this in another city.”— Katie_H
