Private cars, exclusive access, the kind of small group that doesn't share the experience with strangers. Premium tours through Skjolden for travellers whose calendar is the constraint, not the budget.
1Four to four-and-a-half hours in a private minivan — Stalheimskleiva, Gudvangen, Nærøyfjord, and the Stegastein viewpoint included.
2Rent an electric bike for 1 hour to a full day and explore Olden’s scenic fjords and village roads at your own pace.
3Four to five hours by minivan with private guide — explore UNESCO-listed fjords, visit a Viking village, and enjoy panoramic views from Stegastein.
“Flaam is an incredibly beautiful location, and Vlad heightened the experience even further. Upon our cruise ship's arrival, the area's stunning natural beauty was almost surreal. I believe a private tour is the best choice, particularly with the limited time on a cruise. Vlad was not only a fantastic guide but also a genuinely nice person. We were consistently on the go and managed to see a lot that day. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and urge everyone to book with Vlad whenever possible.”— Mark_S
4Half-day small group tour — scenic drive to Stegastein Viewpoint, followed by a gentle walk along Stalheimskleiva and views of the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord.
“This experience deserves a top rating of 5 stars. The guide is well-informed and addresses numerous questions from curious visitors. The journey is both comfortable and leisurely. Ani ensures you absorb as much information as the stunning sights at each location.”— Calvin_C
5Flexible duration with a local guide — visit Briksdal Glacier and take the SkyLift for stunning views, with troll cars included.
“Having Mia as our tour guide again was a stroke of luck. She’s fantastic, and the private tour is definitely the way to go. It allowed us to skip the crowds and access spots that buses can't reach. Mia introduced us to local foods and traditions, and the photos turned out amazing. Thank you, Mia.”— Diana_R
6Five hours with a private driver/guide — visit Stegastein viewpoint, Flåm Railway, and Tvindefossen waterfall in a comfortable minivan.
“Lorenzo provided valuable insights about the locations we explored and had a great sense of humor, making him a helpful guide. However, our train delays limited our time in Voss and elsewhere, leaving us rushed to return to our ship. Given the short duration spent with the guide and the cost of our train tickets, we found the tour to be rather pricey. Considering train delays are common, an earlier pickup or train departure could enhance the experience. It's important to note that Lorenzo was a great guide during our time together.”— Brigitte_B
7Four-and-a-half hours in a private minivan — visit Stalheimsfossen waterfall, Gudvangen, and the Stegastein viewpoint overlooking Aurlandsfjord with an English-speaking driver-guide.
“It was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Vlad, was knowledgeable, friendly, and adaptable. We thoroughly enjoyed the sights and the perfect music he selected for each part of the tour.”— Frank_M
8Four-hour cruise on a private pontoon — explore the Mostraum tidal current, see twin waterfalls, and return to Skjolden via train for easy access to Bergen.
“This private cruise helped us salvage our DIY "Norway in a Nutshell" tour after a ferry cancellation, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our 10-day trip. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to explore the Sognefjord free from the crowds typical on trains and ferries. Bjorn worked closely with me to create a schedule that accommodated our plans, ensuring we saw as much of the stunning fjord as possible despite a half-hour train delay, allowing us to return on time. Bjorn, Hanne, and Robert ensured our group of six felt welcomed, comfortable, and engaged. They provided blankets, cushions, fresh coffee or tea, and warm cinnamon rolls. We enjoyed moving around the boat based on the changing weather and our preferences during the tour. While navigating the fjord, we not only took in the sights and history but also had discussions on various topics. Overall, it was a genuinely unique and delightful experience.”— Linda P
