Four-hour cruise on a private pontoon — explore the Mostraum tidal current, see twin waterfalls, and return to Skjolden via train for easy access to Bergen.
This four-hour private pontoon cruise takes you deep into the Mostraumen fjord, where experienced drivers navigate to areas inaccessible to larger boats. You'll enjoy stunning views from the spacious deck as you explore the scenic Mostraum tidal current and have the chance to see the Hesjedalsfossen twin waterfalls in the pristine Veafjord, untouched by roads.
After the exploration, you will dock directly at the train station, allowing for a quick 40-minute train ride back to Bergen city centre. Bring layers and be prepared for varying weather as you experience this unique combination of boat travel and scenic train journey.

This private cruise helped us salvage our DIY "Norway in a Nutshell" tour after a ferry cancellation, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our 10-day trip. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to explore the Sognefjord free from the crowds typical on trains and ferries. Bjorn worked closely with me to create a schedule that accommodated our plans, ensuring we saw as much of the stunning fjord as possible despite a half-hour train delay, allowing us to return on time. Bjorn, Hanne, and Robert ensured our group of six felt welcomed, comfortable, and engaged. They provided blankets, cushions, fresh coffee or tea, and warm cinnamon rolls. We enjoyed moving around the boat based on the changing weather and our preferences during the tour. While navigating the fjord, we not only took in the sights and history but also had discussions on various topics. Overall, it was a genuinely unique and delightful experience.
We spent two days in Bergen with our teenagers and wanted a memorable fjord experience before heading to Odda. We discovered Bjorn online and opted for a private, local experience instead of the typical tourist boats. It turned out to be a wonderful day! Bjorn drove us to his location and dedicated over four hours to sharing insights about his region, culture, and life in Norway. His tour was both relaxing and engaging. We savored wine and local seafood, and I wouldn’t exchange this experience for anything. Thank you, Bjorn!
The fjords were a standout part of our trip to Bergen, and this experience was wonderful. Everyone truly enjoyed it. One leg of the journey is by driver, while the return is by train, which was slightly confusing for a private tour, but navigating it turned out to be simple. It's a good idea to bring snacks and drinks for the ride.
Bjorn did an excellent job organizing our trip after our earlier journey from Oslo to Bergen was cancelled due to flooding. Hanne was an outstanding guide, and we are very grateful for her assistance. The scenery was stunning. Thank you, Bjorn, for all your help. Frank
This tour was incredibly fantastic, and I'm not even sure where to start. The views were outstanding, the wine was excellent, and our guide, Bjørn, stood out as even more impressive. He was knowledgeable, cheerful, and a wonderful person. I strongly suggest you book this experience if you visit Bergen, or even go out of your way to enjoy it! We will absolutely return!
This experience in the inner fjords near Bergen was fantastic. Bjorn provided fascinating insights and stories about the local history and Norway overall. Our family of three, including an 8-year-old, loved the tranquility of cruising away from the tourist crowds in Bergen, and the pontoon boat had comfy seating.
The tour guide was fantastic and the views were breathtaking. However, after completing the boat tour, we were handed a ticket voucher for the train and instructed to walk to the station. This resulted in a 30-minute wait for the train, followed by a 45-minute ride without any directions, and a further 30-minute walk back to our cruise ship. This was quite surprising, and having prior knowledge would have allowed us to plan better. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this trip.
