Flam was a stop on our cruise, and I opted for a private tour that included a visit to a Viking village for my husband, father, and me. It was exceptional. Vlad confirmed our plans via text the night before and arrived punctually in a comfortable vehicle. We visited scenic spots before the large tour buses arrived and traveled along beautiful roads that those buses do not access, including the summit of a fjord. We gained a wealth of knowledge about the area. With just the three of us, we could adjust our itinerary as needed. For example, we unexpectedly visited a "hidden" community featuring a schoolhouse, stables, and several small houses from centuries ago, plus a stave church. These stops weren't part of the original plan, nor did they replace other scheduled visits. Vlad suggested them as we chatted, and upon our agreement, he quickly adapted his route. The Viking village was particularly fascinating. We felt unhurried throughout the day, enjoyed a splendid tour, and returned to the ship well before the required boarding time.
Flaam is an incredibly beautiful location, and Vlad heightened the experience even further. Upon our cruise ship's arrival, the area's stunning natural beauty was almost surreal. I believe a private tour is the best choice, particularly with the limited time on a cruise. Vlad was not only a fantastic guide but also a genuinely nice person. We were consistently on the go and managed to see a lot that day. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and urge everyone to book with Vlad whenever possible.
