Four to five hours of scenic transit—stops include Portage Lake, Beluga Point, and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, with hotel or airport drop-off in Anchorage.

We enjoyed fantastic excursions throughout Alaska, but the private transfer from Beluga Tours from the cruise dock to the airport truly stood out. Our driver, Taylor, was excellent—knowledgeable, friendly, and engaged well with my 21-year-old son and his friend. He was also an exceptional driver. He communicated with us the day before and kept in touch that morning, ensuring a seamless meet-up. The vehicle was spacious and comfortable. We hiked to a glacier where the boys walked on it, visited waterfalls, an animal conservation center, a bird sanctuary, and even a beluga spotting area, plus a place near the airport to see planes fly overhead. We enjoyed a nice pizza for lunch as well. This was a fantastic way to utilize our time before our late flight, allowing us to explore local attractions and get some exercise. This private tour was worth every cent, and I'm thrilled we chose it. It was a perfect conclusion to an incredible trip, definitely a highlight. Request Taylor as your driver; you won't be disappointed.John_C

Five hours and 25 minutes — a scenic 120-mile cruise featuring glaciers and wildlife in the Chugach National Forest.

We had a fantastic day. Our captain, Ryan, was excellent, sharing plenty of interesting information that was easy to hear and understand thanks to the PA system. The experience went beyond our expectations, as we got within a quarter of a mile of the Harvard glacier. While there were good views from inside, I was mostly outside on the deck. I can't think of a better way to spend a day in Whittier.CARLA_P

Four hours via shuttle — scenic stops at Portage Valley, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, and Lake Hood, including lunch at Girdwood Brewery.

We booked this tour at the last minute after disembarking from our Princess cruise and found it to be $100 less than the transfers offered by Princess. It was a fantastic experience! Our guide Dan was friendly and reliable, and the small group of 13 allowed for a comfortable ride in a large black van. We made various scenic stops, including at Portage Glacier/Lake, a Wildlife Center, a brewery with excellent food trucks, and a chocolate shop. Dan provided great local insights and fascinating stories about Alaska. We appreciated the flexibility to stop for wildlife sightings and appreciated the visit to the largest Air Sea Base. I highly recommend this tour and would happily take it again. Dan dropped us off at the airport, but we also had the option to explore downtown.Nicole_B
