• The professional tour guide will meet you in Whittier to start the journey through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. • A stop will be made at the Begich Boggs Visitor Center, located next to Portage Lake at the foot of the Chugach Mountains. You will have ample opportunities for photography and gain insights about the glaciers in the region, their evolution over time, and the effects of receding glaciers on the Alaskan environment. If the salmon are running during your visit, the guide will take you to a viewpoint to observe them. • The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, popular among locals and visitors, serves as a sanctuary for native Alaskan wildlife. The animals are cared for in natural habitats, making them easily observable. You can expect to see bears, lynx, moose, and various other Alaskan species. • Next is the ski town of Girdwood, which is the southernmost area of the Municipality of Anchorage. At the end of Alyeska Highway lies the Alyeska Resort, home to Alaska's largest ski resort. There will be time to explore shops and admire the stunning grounds prior to taking the Alyeska Tram up the mountain. Lunch will be provided at the Bore Tide Deli, with $30 for you to spend on food, followed by a visit to the Roundhouse gift shop, which is expected to be a highlight of your visit to Alaska. • The journey will then continue along the picturesque Seward Highway to Anchorage. Your guide will watch for beluga whales and other wildlife along the cliffs, and there will be stops at scenic turnouts for more photo opportunities featuring the Cook Inlet, the Chugach Mountains, and other distinctive Alaskan sights. • Upon arrival in Anchorage, you will visit Alaska WildBerry Products, where you can explore a wonderful array of unique Alaskan treats, such as locally sourced honey and jams made with Alaskan berries.
