I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Phillips Cruises and Tours. The cruise was very comfortable, navigating through stunning gulfs and fjords. With calm and steady waters on the inside passage, it's suitable for everyone and nearly impossible to feel seasick. Throughout the journey, there was a chance to observe various wildlife, including seals, sea lions, and sea otters. You might even have the opportunity to see a bear or an eagle if you're fortunate. The highlight of the tour is College Fjord, concluding with a breathtaking glacier. Though I wasn't lucky enough to witness glacier calving, you can still expect to see many glaciers and impressive mountains rising directly from the water—making it an ideal trip for photographers.
We had a fantastic day. Our captain, Ryan, was excellent, sharing plenty of interesting information that was easy to hear and understand thanks to the PA system. The experience went beyond our expectations, as we got within a quarter of a mile of the Harvard glacier. While there were good views from inside, I was mostly outside on the deck. I can't think of a better way to spend a day in Whittier.
