    1. Full-day tour of Elqui Valley from La Serena

    4.8· 11 reviews· 10 hours

A full-day group tour showcasing Elqui Valley attractions, including Cochiguaz new-age lifestyles and a pisco tasting experience.

I arranged a private tour while our ship docked in Coquimbo. Our guide, Samantha, was proficient in English and highly informed, leading the tour seamlessly. We traveled through the Elqui Valley, stopping for pictures at a reservoir before visiting the Falernia vineyard and pisco distillery. We also explored the interesting town of Vicuña. On our way back, we visited the la Recova market in La Serena and the lighthouse. The cost was $45 payable upon arrival, which was significantly cheaper than the cruise ship's tour. Although the cruise excursion featured a three-course meal, I preferred to skip that and enjoy more time exploring the region. I would strongly recommend this tour.Elaine S

We had a fantastic experience with our guide and driver, Ferdinand and Christian, who were both excellent. We explored more than we had anticipated, with many intriguing sights. There was plenty of laughter and engaging conversation along the way. The lunch at a yacht club was fantastic, making it a truly wonderful day.Janis_B

  4. Full-day tour of Fray Jorge National Park and Valle del Encanto, La Serena4

    4. Full-day tour of Fray Jorge National Park and Valle del Encanto

    4.0· 2 reviews· 10 hours

A full-day trip exploring Fray Jorge National Park and the Valle del Encanto, featuring Valdivian forest ecosystems.

The experience didn't live up to the hype. While the route within the park is well-maintained for walking, the long travel to see only a few trees feels unworthy of the time and entrance fee. The "Valdivian forest" is a short 10-minute walk, and the rest of the area features similar bushes and trees seen throughout the trip. There was no wildlife to observe. On a positive note, the park is very clean, with tidy restrooms and a lovely picnic area before the forest, which ended up being our favorite part. Overall, I had much higher expectations based on the videos from conaf.679angelicar
