Malecon 2000 — places to visit in Guayaquil
Malecon 2000 in Guayaquil — view 2
Malecon 2000 is a waterfront promenade stretching over 2.5 kilometres along the Guayas River, redeveloped in the late 20th century. It features modern landscaping, sculptures, and a mix of leisure spaces, with views of the city skyline and the river, making it a focal point for both locals and visitors. Visit any time of year to enjoy the pleasant climate, but evenings are particularly lively with street vendors and cultural performances. Nearby, the Las Peñas neighborhood offers a picturesque cluster of colonial buildings and art galleries, while the historic district is just a short walk away, inviting further exploration.

Christian served as our guide, while William was our driver, picking us up from the hotel. We visited Iguana Park, the Metropolitan Cathedral of Guayaquil, and the AeroVia. Christian was knowledgeable, providing detailed answers to our inquiries and sharing cultural and historical insights. He also took us to a chocolate shop to explain the process and treat us to some ice cream. At the end of the trip, he kindly recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch and a nearby coffee shop. William was a polite driver who took great care of us. My friends and I had a wonderful experience.80mathewe on the Private Guayaquil city tour tailored to your interests tour

I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable Guayaquil turned out to be. Initially just a stop before heading to the Galápagos Islands, the city was beautifully presented by my guide, Tony. He was knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. Although I had concerns about safety in Guayaquil, Tony’s itinerary made me feel secure. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting for a short time, just like I did. Thank you, Tony.Eric_R on the Guayaquil night tour with drinks at FrutaBar tour

Seven-hour private tour — visit a cocoa farm from 10 AM to 2 PM, then explore downtown Guayaquil with a driver/guide and private vehicle.

I highly recommend Mario as a tour guide. He is exceptional and incredibly knowledgeable, providing detailed insights into the cocoa farm process. The farm itself is a beautiful location, and we had the opportunity to make chocolate from scratch, which included roasting the beans, peeling them, and grinding them into a paste using a hand grinder. We also sampled unique drinks. The lunch provided was delightful, both tasty and beautifully presented. We crafted our own chocolate bars with various toppings according to our preferences, and the chocolate quality was outstanding. Meeting the cocoa farm owners was a great experience, and we could purchase chocolate bars at a very fair price. On our way back to Guayaquil, Mario took us to see highlights such as a church, a lovely street, and the iguana park, sharing the city’s history and answering all our questions about life in Ecuador. Our full day with Mario ran from 10 AM to 6 PM. Thank you, Mario; we truly appreciate your country!Maureen_C on the Full-day tour of Guayaquil and a cocoa farm tour
