  1. Virginia Beach Boardwalk history tour, Virginia Beach4

    4. Virginia Beach Boardwalk history tour

    4.0· 1 reviews· 1 hours

Two hours walking tour along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, led by a professional historian, covering the city's evolution as a tourist destination.

My wife and I took this tour on a pleasant weekend in March 2026 and were the only participants. Our guide, Stefan, was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Although the tour was intended to last an hour, we finished in 45 minutes since it was just the three of us and we walked quickly. Having lived in Virginia Beach for 14 years, we learned more about the oceanfront in the first 15 minutes than we had in all those years. The tour spans approximately seven blocks of the oceanfront. If I had any criticism, it would be that I wished it included more topics, particularly modern 20th-century history, but I recognize that would require a longer and more expensive tour. We were interested in aspects like architectural developments, changes in laws, shifts in population, and other trends. Virginia Beach has evolved significantly since we left 23 years ago, and we were eager to learn what influenced those changes.michaelmZ5340TI

    5. Kayaking with dolphins in Chesapeake Bay

    3.7· 3 reviews· 2 hours

Two-hour guided kayak tour through Chesapeake Bay, observing Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins and local wildlife with expert guidance.

Bryan and Harrisonn were fantastic guides. They provided valuable insights and assistance with the kayaks, making it easy for beginners to get the hang of it. Their informative pauses to share details about the local wildlife and history offered a welcome rest. Although we didn't encounter any dolphins up close, we did spot one in the distance. Overall, it was an enjoyable adventure, a refreshing escape from the city's hustle.Erin_L
