11Half-day guided tour of the Cerro Rico silver mine — explore tunnels, witness miners' lives, and learn about Bolivian mining history, with transport and safety gear included.
“The tour was excellently organized from beginning to end, with everything running smoothly. The gear provided, including rubber boots, helmets, and headlamps, was of high quality. It's advisable not to wear too many layers, as it remains comfortable in the cleats; asking the guide for advice on this is helpful. Our guide, “Sun,” offered thorough explanations about the historical and current working conditions in the mountain. We explored various tunnels, which created a fittingly intense atmosphere for the experience. One area for improvement could be the market visit; providing more insight into specific items available for purchase, like offerings for Pachamama, would enhance the experience.”— reisefreudige2020
12A half-day tour of Cerro Potosí — explore an active mine and learn about local mining history and culture.
“The trip unfortunately did not occur due to a mix-up with local providers in Potosi. We were guided by KOALA TOURS, who took us on an incredible journey but made an error by including us in their tour. When they requested payment, we explained that we had already paid and expected reimbursement from INTI TRAVEL. They refused, which I found quite disappointing. The local cost was 260 BOB for two, while Viator charged us 442 BOB, so they aren’t incurring a loss. This money will be deducted from the local guides' salaries, which is unfortunate. I urge Viator to reconsider this situation and reimburse Koala Travel for their service. Until then, I will avoid using them in the future. Please review this case and take the right action. You can reach me on WhatsApp at +44 7412643359 for more information.”— JerseyJoe53
