We enjoyed an outstanding half-day excursion to Laughing Bird Caye. Get ready for extensive snorkeling, as you'll swim a good distance around the Caye. I've never encountered so much marine life on a snorkeling trip before. Additionally, we rented a golf cart from them, which was very convenient as they delivered it to our VRBO and handled the pickup.
The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and guided us in identifying various fish and coral, including a blue crab, a giant lobster, and a cucumber fish. The only issue was with the logistics; changing our booking date wasn't properly communicated to the operator.
Our experience with Captain Jak’s was disappointing and, regrettably, one of the low points of our trip to Belize. On the day of our full-day snorkel tour to Silk and Moho Cayes, we were informed that it was rescheduled due to a cold front, but I received no confirmation for a hotel pickup the following day. As a result, we drove into town to meet the tour, only to find out that our reservation had been misplaced. Fortunately, they did manage to accommodate us for snorkeling that day. However, since the weather was still rough, we ended up at Laughing Bird Caye, which I wish we had skipped altogether. Our guide was unpleasant, even accusing me of taking more than one piece of chicken at lunch, and the strong wind made it difficult to eat. Many of the corals appeared bleached. While I’m glad we didn’t miss out on snorkeling completely, I don’t feel the tour was worth the price we paid. I’ll be choosing a different tour provider during my next visit to Belize.
Our day was fantastic from the moment we were picked up at our rental home until we returned. The guides were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride, snorkeling, and lunch. This is an essential experience while visiting Placencia.

The snorkeling trip to Laughing Bird Caye was fantastic. I highly recommend it— the scenery is stunning, the water is crystal clear, and we encountered many fish, coral, and other marine life, including nurse sharks, thanks to our guide. Captain Jak's Tours provided excellent service with punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable guides.

The views were just as stunning as we had hoped as we swam with the island's diverse marine life. It was an amazing experience that I would gladly repeat.

Upon reaching the island, which was one of the most stunning places I've visited, we received a brief safety talk before entering the water. I learned a lot while seeing many amazing sights. This was one of the finest snorkeling tours I've experienced! A half-day is definitely sufficient.
I experienced both scuba diving and snorkeling at Laughing Bird, and I found the snorkeling to be far superior. Most people I spoke with shared this opinion. We had ample time in the water, and the tour guides were very friendly, especially Peter, who was engaging and fun to chat with. He's a great asset to your team.
Our experience with Mario and Tony was fantastic. Mario provided us with a wealth of information about the reef and was both enjoyable and knowledgeable throughout the tour. We highly recommend this trip and would gladly go again.
