Reviews
This was an excellent trip, featuring highly knowledgeable guides. We had ample opportunity to observe wildlife and learn about the region's history. The team was accommodating, taking us out the day before our scheduled tour due to anticipated bad weather. A special mention goes to the young lady in the booking office who handled inquiries from some Americans about refunds for not seeing dolphins with impressive diplomacy. I highly recommend this company for a great experience.
The cruise was truly enjoyable. With a small group, we had a great view of the dolphins. The staff were friendly, relaxed, and eager to help us encounter the dolphins and other wildlife in a close-up experience.
This trip was truly magical, as we encountered dolphins and numerous native bird species. The guides excelled at locating wildlife and bringing us close for an unforgettable experience.
The boat ride with Wiil and Andy was enjoyable, but I found the Captain Cook site to be underwhelming. The area is indeed tranquil and picturesque, yet I anticipated a replica of the ship like in the photo and hoped for more informative displays, such as a museum with artifacts.
The tour proved to be one of the best parts of our journey. Captain Dan and Cam were fantastic hosts, and we were lucky to witness a diverse range of marine and wildlife. It offered great value, providing both education and unique experiences in the Marlborough Sounds.
The music was lovely, and the tour guide Hannah along with Captain Andy were very welcoming. It was definitely worth it and comes highly recommended.
The experience offered a unique perspective beyond just a cruise on the sound. There was an abundance of wildlife, and the guides were very supportive. We observed many birds, and dolphins even came to play around our boat.
Wonderful experience observing marine wildlife in their natural environment. The staff was knowledgeable and had a friendly demeanor.
The boat was overcrowded for its size, which meant we had to stay in the cabin and rear area while moving. Many passengers had to stand for the entire journey due to the lack of seating.
Our group of nine had a wonderful time on the Captain Cook and dolphin cruise. We were fortunate to see rare birds, blue penguins, seals up close, and many dolphins during our adventure, which was unforgettable from beginning to end. Courtney and Captain Dan were exceptional hosts: friendly, knowledgeable, and truly approachable. They made everyone feel at home and offered a wealth of intriguing information throughout the journey. The entire experience was well-organized, laid-back, and memorable. We would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone in the area and would gladly book again ourselves.
