This three-hour adventure takes place in the scenic woods near Monforte d'Alba, where you'll join a professional truffle hunter, known as a "Trifolao", and his specially trained dog. You'll breathe in the fresh air and get a close look at the truffle-hunting process, learning about the rarity of these fungi and picking up expert tips on spotting them.
The experience concludes with a tasting session featuring local wines paired with cheese, topped with freshly scraped black truffle. Note that the Trifolao's fee is not included in the tour price and is payable in cash on the day: €40 per person for groups of two, or €30 each for larger groups.

Note that this activity incurs an additional cost of 30-40 Euros per person, with an option to purchase any truffles found. The experience was fascinating. Afterward, we returned to the wine shop for the tasting portion. We opted for the light lunch, which was a great choice since we were quite hungry by then. While the meal wasn't large, it was delicious and sufficient. Overall, we enjoyed a wonderful 3.5 hours despite the drizzle.
This was a wonderful experience. The truffle hunter and his dogs were very skilled, and the interpreter was welcoming and knowledgeable. The wine education and tasting were excellent. We found eight truffles and bought one to take home for a fantastic dinner tonight. I highly recommend this activity.

This was an amazing experience. From the journey between Torino and Monforte D’Alba to Marina's warm welcome and the delightful interaction with the truffle hunter, his charming wife, and their skilled four border collies, it felt like we were at home. We found several white truffles and had the chance to negotiate fair prices for them. Afterward, we returned to MONVINO to taste three varieties of Barolo and Barbaresco, where Marina provided insightful explanations about the regions and wineries, which was an added highlight. She even recommended a lunch spot in Barolo, Barolo Friends. I highly recommend this experience!
I had a truly unique experience. The first part involved a truffle hunt with Elio and his dogs in a truffle reserve, which was enjoyable to watch as the dogs found truffles and Elio unearthed them. The wine tasting with Melina at MonVino was excellent; she provided great insights about the region while we sampled various wines paired with local cheeses. I highly recommend this activity.
