I highly recommend this tour. Alessio is very professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. With limited time in the Piedmont region, we greatly benefitted from his expertise on local terroir and winemaking. We gained far more insight and tasted better wines than we would have on our own. Alessio selected three fantastic wineries, each with not only excellent wines but also engaging presenters we enjoyed conversing with. The lunch at a lovely local restaurant was also a highlight. We are excitedly awaiting the cases we've ordered for home delivery.
Alessio was on time and had an impressive understanding of the Barolo region. I highly recommend this experience and appreciate the time he took to share with us.
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide Jan was excellent and very knowledgeable. He selected three great wineries and found a lovely place for lunch.
Having been a wine collector for several years, I recently started exploring Barolo and Barbaresco. For our initial visit, my wife and I sought an expert's guidance, and Alessio truly surpassed our expectations. As a winemaker, his extensive knowledge of the region, its key vineyards, and vinification methods was invaluable. We enjoyed using the MGA book he provided, which details the vineyards of both Barolo and Barbaresco, allowing us to delve into their specifics and the producers associated with them. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the wineries Alessio selected. We spent three days with him—one each in Roero, Barbaresco, and Barolo. Each winery we visited showcased exceptional wines and a commitment to educating us about their histories, vinification approaches, and innovative initiatives like a completely amphora-vinified Nebbiolo and a solar-powered humidity control system. Interacting with the estate owners added a personal touch to our experience, and we attribute our memorable visits to Alessio's relationships with these vintners. In summary, Alessio is one of the most knowledgeable and professional guides I've encountered, and we intend to tour with him again in the future.
During our trip to Italy, a friend suggested we stay in Alba and explore the Barolo wineries. We came across this tour featuring a winemaker as the guide and decided to book it. We were extremely pleased with our choice! Alessio, our guide, was excellent—punctual and knowledgeable about the region and the wine production process. He took us to a fantastic lunch at L’Osteria del Vignaiolo, which was incredible. We visited two wineries and had the chance to sample Marine Falcone Wines that Alessio produces himself. Tasting those wines with him was a remarkable experience. I highly recommend this tour; it’s truly worth every penny.
We had a wonderful tour with Alessio, who was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the region. His choice of wineries was fantastic, making for a great day overall. Thank you!
Alessio is an excellent guide whose expertise in winemaking and the local area made this experience both informative and enjoyable. The stunning scenery and the region's history made it essential to visit. He selected excellent family-run wineries, and the owners were friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciated Alessio's dinner recommendations and the support of our driver. I highly recommend Alessio.
We planned a full-day tour that included visits to two Barolo producers, with lunch at a local eatery. Our guide, Alessio, was charming, fluent in English, and very knowledgeable. The morning started at Silvano Bolmida, a small family winery, where Francesco, the owner's son, shared insights about their wines and operations. We had an engaging discussion while tasting four wines, which gave us valuable context about the Barolo region. We enjoyed a superb lunch in La Morra before heading to our last stop, Paolo Scavino. There, we toured the production facilities and cellars, tasting six different wines, including their excellent Dolcetto d’Alba and the flagship Barolo ‘Bric del Fiasc’. Alessio, being a producer himself, had personal connections with both winemakers and brought great expertise about the region's wine culture and history. I highly recommend him.
Our day trip was exceptional. Luca, our guide, has lived in the region for his entire life and possesses a deep understanding of the local geography and wines. He brought us to three wineries in Barolo and Barbaresco, each chosen to showcase the area's diverse terroirs and wine styles. Despite having enjoyed wines from this region before, we gained more insight in one day than from years of tasting back home. In addition to his expertise, Luca was a genuinely enjoyable person to spend the day with. I strongly recommend this tour.
I highly recommend this tour! I enjoyed two days of wine tasting with the fantastic Alessio as my guide—one day dedicated to Barolo and the other to Barbaresco. I also had the chance to taste his excellent wine, Marin Falcone. He was attentive, adjusting the itinerary based on my interests for stops and photos. Everything was perfectly organized and he was always punctual.
