“The tour was excellent, simple to follow, and filled with information. It was wonderful to have a local resident share insights about his city. We gained knowledge about Isafjordur that we wouldn't have accessed on our own or through a guidebook. I would definitely go on a tour like this again after this experience.”— Storyteller205182
8A small group tour visiting Dynjandi Waterfall and a surprise stop, exploring the Westfjords’ dramatic landscapes with a local guide.
“This tour stands out from typical small group waterfall excursions in Iceland due to a unique stop at a working sheep farm. For those intrigued by how farmers adapt to the challenging environment, this tour deserves a spot on your wish list. The farm has been maintained by a single family over generations, now run by a young couple who are charming and hardworking. They communicate well in English and are happy to share insights about their lives and farm, along with some delicious homemade treats. Their livestock are an integral part of their lifestyle, with some sheep appearing to live in the house. The waterfalls themselves are also breathtaking, though distinct from the major waterfalls seen elsewhere in Iceland. They consist of three parts as the water flows down the hillside, with the top falls being particularly stunning. Reaching them involves a lengthy, occasionally steep and slippery hike, or you can opt for a shorter trek to various scenic viewpoints. The setting within a long, narrow fjord provides amazing vistas from different angles around the falls. Our guide was an experienced local who handled the small bus and offered engaging commentary about the sights, along with the country's historical context. This was one of the more affordable excursions available from Isafjordur and definitely offers good value for the money.”— steamfan007
