Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR)
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) is a vast protected area covering 225 square kilometres of the Arabian Desert, established in 2003 to safeguard the region's unique flora and fauna. Visitors arrive to find a landscape of rolling dunes, indigenous wildlife like oryx and gazelles, and opportunities for nature walks or guided tours.
Plan for half a day to fully enjoy the experience, ideally during the cooler months from October to March. While the reserve is located just outside the city, you can also explore the nearby Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve for a broader view of desert ecology.
