The parking area is a bit of a walk from the attractions, but the path is paved, making it manageable for those who need to proceed slowly. While there are many steps at the temple, taking your time allows you to appreciate the mystery and sanctity of the location. The temple forest dedicated to ancestors was especially magnificent, providing a quiet and sacred atmosphere. The Longmen Grottoes are definitely worth the journey, and trolley buses can take you near the extensive viewing area, although accessing the cave carvings involves many stairs. For those with mobility issues, I recommend viewing from ground level. The serene river acts as a beautiful backdrop, and the bridge on the other side provides a distant view of the larger carvings. Trolley cars can take you back to the remote parking lot, so remember where you parked to avoid getting lost, as we did. The language barrier made finding our driver quite challenging.
