Dimitris, our driver, provided exceptional service, ensuring we reached all our destinations swiftly and safely while sharing hidden viewpoints and stops along the way. The olive oil tasting was fantastic, and we even purchased some to be shipped home. I highly recommend this experience.
Our experience was absolutely fantastic. Demetrius was attentive and went the extra mile, allowing us to visit the Olympic Ruins before our olive oil factory tour. The tour itself was enjoyable, and afterwards, he took us to a charming local restaurant for lunch that exceeded our expectations. When my husband mentioned it was my birthday, Demetrius surprised me with a small gift before picking us up from the ruins. I can't praise him or this tour enough.
The tour featured a visit to the Oilympian Koufolias Olive Oil Mill, followed by a fantastic traditional Greek meal at Ταβέρνα Της Μαχης in Korakochori, highlighted by our exceptional guide, Vicky. She was knowledgeable and friendly, assisting us with our orders at the restaurant. The small group size and low traffic made for a pleasant change compared to other experiences. This tour truly exceeded our expectations.
We had an incredible day with Dimitris! He greeted us outside the cruise port terminal and impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the area. Our tour began at an olive mill where we enjoyed a great tour and tasting. Dimitris then took us to picturesque spots for photos, even pausing so I could capture moments with the olive trees. Our final destination was a family-owned restaurant featuring traditional Greek cuisine. Although the owners didn’t speak English, Dimitris handled our order seamlessly. We enjoyed an abundance of delicious courses, including homemade bread, wine, and dessert, while sitting on the patio, reminiscent of our grandparents' backyard. Dimitris ensured we returned to the terminal well ahead of our cruise's departure. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour was lovely, as we celebrated my mom's birthday. Our driver, Costas, was friendly, welcoming, and very informative. We enjoyed the olive oil tour and had tasty food at a restaurant. Although it rained and we couldn’t capture photos in the mountains, it was an overall wonderful experience.
This tour was truly enjoyable for us. The visit to the olive mill was excellent, hosted by a local family who were both friendly and informative. As cooking enthusiasts, we valued the quality of their products and ended up buying several bottles. However, the standout aspect was our driver, Andreas. He was warm, accommodating, and adjusted well to our schedule. Having dependable transportation to and from our cruise terminal made the experience worth every cent. The tour concluded with lunch at a local restaurant, serving the best food we've had in Greece. We highly recommend this tour to all.
This was a fantastic and educational tour. I highly recommend Dimitri as a guide! We enjoyed an olive oil tasting and a lovely lunch at a local tavern in Katakolo. Our driver was also very friendly and treated us to coffee.
George was outstanding. I really enjoyed the olive oil mill tour, and the restaurant we visited afterward was fantastic and had authentic Greek food. I highly recommend this tour if you want a different experience from the Olympia sites.
I wouldn't recommend booking this tour as a shore excursion for a cruise. After being warned by our captain the night before that we might not dock in Katakolo due to bad weather, I informed the operator at 6:15 PM. The next morning, at 6:45 AM, I confirmed we couldn't dock, and they acknowledged my message. However, when I asked for a refund, they refused. In all my travel experiences, this has never happened before; other operators have always issued refunds when cancellations were out of our control. THEOCAR is the only company that has been so inflexible about the 24-hour cancellation policy. We also canceled a private tour in Valletta due to the same storm, but the refund was processed right away.
The driver was pleasant and courteous, though he did not share any insights about the local region. I found the olive oil factory tour engaging and informative. However, the lunch at the Taverna was average, with minimal explanation of the dishes, and there was an extra charge for the beers. Additionally, the presence of nearby cigarette smokers at the Taverna was unpleasant.
