Reviews
We witnessed stunning auroras on 3 of the 4 nights during our stay in Yellowknife. Despite the extreme cold, the skies were clear, and I even spotted some shooting stars. Dressed in two pairs of snow pants and warm layers, I had no trouble standing outside for hours in -35 degrees, enjoying the beautiful views. I discovered that capturing time-lapse videos on my iPhone produces remarkable results. Seeing the auroras with my own eyes was an unforgettable experience. I might return next September before the lake freezes to see them again.
After searching for the aurora borealis for a long time without success, this trip exceeded my expectations. The vibrant colors of the northern lights were truly astonishing. I never realized there were shades beyond just green and purple in this stunning display. Bucket list checked off.
We reserved this tour six months ahead of time, as it was advertised with English-speaking guides. However, a week before the tour, we were informed that it would primarily be conducted in Chinese, with minimal English. Though we were offered a full refund if we canceled, we felt it was too late to make that decision since we had already arranged our hotel, flights, and other activities in Yellowknife. This last-minute change caused us significant stress and dissatisfaction with the company.
