Five hours with a short hike to Cameron Falls, followed by a BBQ lunch at Madeline Lake with swimming and kayaking options.
This five-hour excursion starts with a 1.5-hour hike along the Cameron Falls Trail, leading you to the waterfall's source, where you might spot various birds and distinct Chaga fungi.
After the hike, travel to a luxurious lodge by Madeline Lake for a BBQ lunch in a picturesque lakeside setting. Post-lunch, enjoy the opportunity to relax around the lake, swimming or kayaking — life jackets are provided for all adults, although no lifeguard will be on duty. Pickup from your Yellowknife hotel is around 11:00 AM, with the tour concluding around 4:00 PM.
Reviews
The guides provide a wealth of information about the Northern Lights and Yellowknife while being friendly and helpful. They assist in finding great photo angles and directions. The lakeside cottage is stunning, and the barbecue lunch is tasty. If you want autumn activities near Yellowstone, this is an excellent choice.
There aren't many options for activities in Yellowknife during autumn, but walking to the suburbs is quite pleasant and the views are stunning. The guides are knowledgeable and engaging, and the lunch they provide is both plentiful and tasty, making for a delightful and fulfilling afternoon.
The hike offered a moderate challenge with significant elevation changes. Mo, our guide, showed great patience, letting us rest as needed. The view at the falls made the effort worthwhile. After the hike, we enjoyed a fantastic BBQ lunch while Mo prepared it, creating a relaxing end to a great experience.
Mo was extremely friendly and accommodating. We hiked the Cameron Falls Trail and captured numerous wonderful photos. To top it off, Mo made some delicious food for us. If you're a fan of hiking and nature, I highly recommend this tour.
I was extremely let down to receive an email only one hour before my scheduled pickup for the hike, notifying me of the cancellation. The reason given was that I was the only person registered, not due to weather or any unexpected situations. Since I had to cancel with 24 hours' notice, I expected the same courtesy in return. By the time they reached out, it was too late for me to arrange alternative plans on a Sunday, when many places in Yellowknife were closed. While I appreciated the full refund, I was very disappointed with the short notice of the cancellation.
Thank you, Mo, for organizing everything for us. The hike was enjoyable, explanations were clear, and the lunch was excellent. I highly recommend this tour to others.
The group hike to Cameron Falls was an enjoyable experience for us. The trail was manageable, and the scenery was stunning throughout. Lunch at a private lodge by the lake was a delightful and tasty treat. Our guide, Mo, was friendly and kept us engaged throughout the trip.
Moe was an excellent driver and guide during our hike to Cameron Falls, providing explanations in both English and Chinese. The tour featured a homemade lunch of grilled salmon and sausage at the lodge, where we were able to view the aurora borealis at night. However, the lodge appeared to be in need of regular cleaning, which is why I rated it 4 stars. Nonetheless, I valued the effective communication from the proprietor regarding this tour and my previous city tour, especially after experiencing several cancellations from other companies due to low enrollment.
Our hiking trip was amazing! Mo, our guide, was caring, knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. He took the time to explain everything and later treated us to a delicious BBQ lunch. This has been my favorite trip in Yellowknife so far.
Mo was our guide, and he truly stood out as caring, honest, friendly, knowledgeable, and responsible. He led us to the stunning Cameron Falls and then made us a delicious BBQ lunch at the beautiful Aurora Lodge with a lovely lake view. Afterward, he took us to Old Town, which we requested to enjoy the best “London Fog” flavor ice cream at the SunPost trading store. I highly recommend this tour company for hiking enthusiasts; it may be a bit costly, but the experience is worth every penny.
