1Experience the exclusivity of chartering a 10 metre Oceanis Clipper sailing yacht on England's largest natural lake, Windermere. Get involved as much or as little as you like, or relax whilst you appreciate the yacht, amazing views and fresh Cumbrian air. A very extensive and locally sourced ploughman's is served in the second half of the trip with lots of delicious homemade additions. You may dine on deck if the weather permits, with views most restaurants can only dream of. We have a well stocked and reasonably priced bar on board, complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks. We even have a private bathroom and central heating! Having sailed on Windermere for 20 years I have plenty of stories to tell you about the Lake and thoroughly enjoy showing you how to sail on it in my fabulous yacht.
2On this tour you get to see: • Wray Castle where Beatrix spent her 16th birthday and first discovered the Lake District where she was to later make her home. • Near Sawrey village which Beatrix visited often, used as inspiration for her illustrations and where she happily settled and married. • Hill Top, the house which Beatrix bought from the money she made from the publication of Peter Rabbit. • Esthwaite Water where Beatrix fished from her boat. • Hawkshead village • Tarn Hows bought by Beatrix and regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the Lake District. • Coniston Water with spectacular views of the lake and Coniston Old Man • Yewdale Valley where Beatrix owned farms and land including Yew Tree Farm used in the film Miss Potter.

5Charter a skippered yacht for a 2 hour sailing experience, get involved and take control of the yacht or just sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery unfold around you. The boat: 23 foot Jeanneau yacht which can comfortably accommodate groups of up to four guests. There is plenty of space to relax above and below deck as well as storage for bags, fresh water and toilet access.
6Discover the locations that inspired Beatrix Potter on a 4.5-hour Lake District afternoon tour. Embark on a cruise, enjoy the spectacular Lake District landscape from the water. Visit Hill Top farm, Beatrix Potter’s former home, and see the landscapes that inspired some of her books. Entrance to Hill Top farm is included, however when Hill Top is closed customers will visit The World of Beatrix Potter. (Hill Top is closed every Friday outside of the UK school holidays and November - February). Continue on to the charming medieval village of Hawkshead, where poet William Wordsworth attended school, and then through the beautiful landscapes of the central lakes with lake and woodland views.
