Unfortunately, we couldn't participate in the tour with Arctic Range due to our flights being cancelled and having to rebook. However, the team promptly cancelled our reservation and issued a refund, which I was grateful for as it alleviated some stress.
I initially felt a bit anxious traveling solo from California to the Yukon to see my uncles, especially since I had never been to the Yukon before despite being originally from Canada. However, I'm really glad I chose this excursion to explore the area! The pickup at the Sternwheeler hotel was timely, and the tour guides, both of whom had names starting with "M" and sounded similar, were exceptional. They were warm, funny, and very knowledgeable. I had a wonderful time, and the hot springs were simply amazing.
The tour with guides Liz and Sam was fantastic. Despite the snowy conditions, Sam navigated the roads expertly. We spotted multiple animals in the preserve, though the moose was elusive. Their insights were both informative and enjoyable. Finally, the hot springs provided a perfect warm-up. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area.
The guide and driver were excellent, but the tour fell short of my expectations. The description could be clearer regarding what the tour entails. It was an enjoyable afternoon, but I wouldn't rank it as a must-do in Whitehorse.
I had an excellent time observing winter wildlife with the friendly and helpful guides, Ashiko and Sam. The hot springs provided a wonderful conclusion to the day, leaving me feeling warm and relaxed. I really enjoyed the Onsen pool and meditation room.
The tour was a disappointment. Although our guide was pleasant and made an effort, the experience felt more like a zoo than a wildlife tour, costing us $400 for limited wildlife sightings. Both the lynx and fox were hidden that day. Additionally, the guide's English proficiency hindered her ability to share knowledge effectively. We felt the value was lacking and recommend skipping the guided tour in favor of paying just the $30 entrance fee instead.
This excursion was truly wonderful. Our guide was friendly and provided us with plenty of information about the animals. The hot springs were definitely a highlight.
I appreciated the Wildlife Center and the hot springs. It was an extensive day, so I was glad I packed some water. The descriptions should definitely advise bringing water along.
The Wildlife Centre is expansive, featuring spacious environments for the animals, such as climbing cliffs for the mountain goats and a large wetlands area for the two moose. It mainly focuses on rescued animals that receive excellent care.
Arctic Range Adventures provided an exceptionally organized and professional experience. From our initial questions to booking and the tours themselves, everything was excellent. We valued the airport pickup and drop-off service. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. The bus rides were safe and convenient, allowing us to reach various spots, including the spa and wildlife preserve, as well as the beautiful Aurora viewing site. The arctic rental clothing kept us very warm. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
