The distance from Udaipur to Chittorgarh is approximately 112 km, which takes about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic conditions. • Explore the impressive Chittorgarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formerly the capital of Mewar, it is located in modern-day Chittorgarh. A minimum of one day is recommended to fully explore the fort complex. Significant sites within the fort include the Vijay Stambha, Samadhisvar Temple, Kumbha Palace, and Ratan Singh Palace. • Visit the Vijaya Stambha, a grand victory tower found within the fort. Constructed by the Hindu Rajput king Rana Kumbha of Mewar in 1448, this monument commemorates his triumph over the forces of Malwa led by Mahmud Khalji in the Battle of Sarangpur. • The Padmini Palace served as the residence of Rani Padmini, the Rajput queen and the wife of King Rawal Ratan Singh, who is significant in Rajput history. This three-story white structure overlooks a serene lotus pool and features pavilions atop surrounded by water moats. Its architectural design has influenced other notable buildings that are also bordered by water. • Kirti Stambha is a 22-meter-tall tower located at Chittor Fort. Built by Jeeja Bhagerwala during the reign of Rawal Kumar Singh in the 12th century, it honors Jainism. The Stambha is adorned with intricate sculptures that are remarkably beautiful, making it a must-see during your visit to Chittorgarh Fort.
