Kumiko provided an excellent half-day private walking tour in Takayama, showcasing her knowledge and enthusiasm. She came prepared with printed materials and communicated effectively in English. Flexible and accommodating, she guided us to shops of interest and we appreciated her company so much that we invited her to lunch afterward. The tour included all the key sites like Hida Kokuburji Temple, the morning markets, the Festival Floats Museum, and Sakurayama Shrine, as well as areas dotted with historic wooden houses. Overall, it was a delightful morning. Her company is Kanazawa Tours.
Kumiko went above and beyond to ensure we had an exceptional day. When we requested to see a Wagyu farm, she quickly organized a visit that turned out to be wonderful. She also guided us to an amazing cave in the mountains and introduced us to great shops and dining spots. I highly recommend her; she truly is remarkable.

Kumiko Mitsuhata, or Ku, was an exceptional guide during our half-day tour of Takayama. She skillfully adjusted our itinerary and helped us find bus options for the next day after our train was canceled, even returning to our hotel to leave us vital information. Ku guided us through the main attractions and shared recommendations for other sites we could explore later. Her lively personality and impressive calligraphy greatly enriched our experience. The tour in Kanazawa led by Mrs. Kayo Iida was excellent. We explored Kanazawa Castle Park and the Samurai district, and we also had the opportunity to visit a factory specializing in silk painting for kimonos and other items.
Nozomi was a fantastic guide who made our experience truly enjoyable. She was both engaging and friendly, sharing her knowledge of Geisha and Samurai cultures along with insights into modern Kanazawa. We really loved our half-day tour, just remember to bring an umbrella.
Kumiko was my guide, and she was outstanding—very knowledgeable and exceptionally kind. Her engaging style, along with her binder of information, made the stories enjoyable and easy to follow. She's also a talented artist, quickly sketching adorable items. I absolutely love my Kaonishi drawing.
The tour was thorough and our guide, Kumico, was exceptional. She utilized teaching materials such as photos, charts, and videos, and was always kind and patient with our questions. Her enthusiasm made us eager to return to Takayama. In my view, exploring Takayama without a guide would not offer the same experience. While I can't speak to other guides, I highly recommend Kumico.
