The guide did not show up and failed to contact us. We waited for 30 minutes and then spent another hour trying to rearrange our plans. The timing was poor.
Shonakawago was the highlight of the trip. However, after driving for one hour, the driver informed me that it would cost an additional 20,000 yen to reach Kanazawa.

Our pickup was timely right after our train arrived. Mr. Takayama Hato, our driver, greeted us with a sign at the gate. The car was conveniently parked at the curb, eliminating any wait time. It was clean and very comfortable, and Mr. Hato proved to be an excellent driver. Upon arrival at our destination, he offered to escort us to the shuttle station to ensure we wouldn’t get lost. We were very pleased with the service.

Visiting Shirakawago this way was fantastic, especially compared to the confusing Nohi bus schedule. The convenience of hotel pick-up and a drop-off at a restaurant afterward was a huge time-saver. Ryo-san was wonderful—punctual and friendly. The van was clean, spacious, and even had ample room for luggage if needed. I highly recommend this private chauffeur service for exploring Shirakawago.
