Our family of four enjoyed a fantastic and well-organized tour with Kumiko, who provided us with thorough insights about the villages we explored and the local way of life. She was also generous with her answers to our various questions about Japan. I highly recommend extending the tour by two extra hours to include Suganuma and Ainokura; while they are smaller, they are even more charming.
Sachiko guided us on a delightful stroll through Shirakawago, a picturesque village and UNESCO heritage site. Her expertise regarding the area's history and its distinctive thatched roof homes was impressive. We concluded our walk with a satisfying lunch at a local eatery and were happy to treat Sachiko and our driver. We enjoyed an excellent day with our guide and driver Yuka, who provided door-to-door service from Takayama to Kanazawa. Her knowledge enriched our visit to Shirakawa-go village, making our transfer seamless while allowing us to see a UNESCO World Heritage site that is definitely worth visiting. Following the suggestion of Kanazawa tours for an 8 am pickup helped us avoid the crowds at the mountain village; it became quite busy by the time we left. I highly recommend Kanazawa tours and Yuka for an effortless travel experience between these two cities.
Junpei picked us up at our hotel in Takayama and drove us to Kanazawa, stopping at Shirakawago along the way. He was a delightful companion, an excellent driver, and very knowledgeable about the region. He arrived on time, and the vehicle was very comfortable, making this experience exceed our expectations.
