7We are visiting the fantastic Trollfjord: The Trollfjord is one of the most visited nature attractions in Lofoten. The fjord is a sidearm the Raftsund east in Lofoten. The fjord is 2 km long, and only 100 meters wide at the most narrow. The steep mountains surrounding the fjord are between 600 and 1100 metres high. The fjord has also played an important part in our fisheries. The battle of the Trollfjord in 1890 is immortalized through Johan Bojer`s novel, «The Last Viking», and one of painter Gunnar Berg`s (1863-1893) main works. The painting of The battle of the Trollfjord can be viewed in Svinøya Rorbuer`s Gunnar Berg Gallery.
8Experience Lofoten's majestic Trollfjord in complete silence aboard Brim Explorers modern hybrid-electric ship. Discover new perspectives and explore this epic fjord in silence. Departing from Svolvær harbour in the morning, we set out for Trollfjord an hour cruising away. On the way you can take in the breathtaking views in panoramic lounges and multiple decks. As we reach Raftsundet we'll launch an underwater drone, bringing you unique perspectives on the life underwater. What do you think hides beneath the surface? We'll spend some time in Trollfjord, exploring as, above us, white-tailed eagles soar against the backdrop of steep mountains. Our engaging crew will tell you about the wildlife, landscape and history of the resilient communities that live in this epic coastal landscape. Onboard there's a selection of beverages and local foods for purchase. Note that prices might differ from website to website and may be lower directly with the Brim Explorer directly.
9Have you always dreamed of seeing—and photographing—the northern lights? The Lofoten Islands, with their dramatic landscapes and dark winter skies, are the perfect place. Join our experienced guide for a 4-hour adventure in search of the aurora. We don’t visit the same spot every night—your guide tracks the weather to find the clearest skies for the best chance to see the lights. Learn fascinating stories about the aurora and its role in local culture, science, and history. A photographer will show you how to capture the lights on camera or phone, use a tripod, and frame your shots. Dress warmly in layers, and bring shoes, thermals, and gloves. All photos from the tour will be sent to you, free of charge.
10The combination of silence, raw nature on all sides, and full freedom of motion, makes sea kayaking one of our most popular adventures. You cannot get closer to nature than this.
