Two hours with a local guide at Steim Farm — meet alpacas, ducks, and possibly baby animals, exploring a historic farm dating back to the Viking Age.
This two-hour tour offers a glimpse into the world of Steim Farm, with origins tracing back to the Viking Age. A local guide leads you through the farm where you’ll meet friendly alpacas and muscovy ducks, while keeping an eye out for boar goats and traditional long-wool sheep in the neighbouring pastures.
If you’re fortunate, there may also be baby animals around to see. The setting is scenic, and the farm experience is complemented by its rich history. Wear comfortable footwear for a stroll through the farm and enjoy the pastoral environment.

Our visit to the farm in Vik was fantastic. We enjoyed feeding and petting the animals, and the farm has several interesting projects. Also, it was raspberry season, which was wonderful. Additionally, we were picked up by a friendly lady outside the tourist information center. I wish her all the best with her upcoming Cafe project.
Our family arranged a tour of the farm, and it was exceptional. Visiting from the United States for the first time in Norway, we were delighted to explore both the town and the farm. With four adults, a toddler, and an infant, we enjoyed observing and feeding the animals, wandering the premises, and appreciating the stunning views of Vik. It was truly a memorable experience, and we plan to return.
We visited on a gorgeous sunny day, May 13, and were greeted by friendly people who offered a lovely tour of their farm. Just that week, two baby alpacas were born, and they were adorable. We hand-fed the alpacas large chunks of food and learned about their wool. The alpacas had just been sheared, and the farm is still figuring things out, reflecting its early development. Despite being in its infancy, this alpaca farm has great potential as an attraction, provided it doesn't become overly commercialized. I highly recommend it for both adults and children.
What a wonderful location with stunning views. We enjoyed a lovely time on the farm, picking berries and visiting the animals. The farm girl was delightful. Thank you from Thea, Stian, Alma, Julie, and Freya.
We had a fantastic VIP experience on our private tour of Steim Farm with our guide, Elin, who picked us up at the cruise ship dock. Elin was friendly, well-informed, and passionate about farm life. The stunning views of the fjords and the landscape were unforgettable. She shared detailed insights about the farm's daily operations and the alpacas. The weather was perfect, making the tour exceptional. We interacted with the alpacas and even fed them by hand, with one baby adorably nibbling on my shirt. We also fed the geese, though they were a bit more feisty. The scenery was breathtaking, and it's easy to see why people choose to live in such a charming village. Elin did a wonderful job, and we thoroughly enjoyed our private tour.
We arrived unexpectedly, but Gaute immediately set aside his plans to offer us an amazing tour of the farm. The sunny weather gave us breathtaking views of Vik from the property. Gaute provided entertaining and informative stories about both the farm and the area. We really enjoyed meeting the chickens (hello, Michael!), exploring the lovely garden, and especially getting to know the alpacas—our favorite was the 'pretty' one! This was a highlight of our trip, and we hope to come back.
