Reviews
We joined the beginners kayaking tour in Olden while on a cruise, conveniently located near the port. Our large family group, spanning ages from 10 to 60, was equipped with dry suits and flotation devices. The instructor provided clear instructions and safety briefings. Everyone had a fantastic time; it was well worth the money. I highly recommend this experience.
I had an excellent experience. The scenery was stunning, and kayaking was simple and tranquil. I highly recommend this activity. Our instructor also provided fantastic suggestions for local hikes.
The experience was truly enjoyable and exhilarating. The activity desk was conveniently located by the cruise terminal. The guides were friendly and did an excellent job of explaining safety protocols. We received wetsuits and shoes, so light clothing underneath was sufficient. I stayed completely dry except for my socks. Our kayaking adventure lasted around 2 hours, during which we stopped at several points to hear stories about the area. At the final stop, we had some free time to kayak before heading back. While we didn't navigate narrow fjords, the views were stunning, making it a memorable experience. I recommend bringing a waterproof case for your phone with a lanyard, and it's advisable to leave valuables either in your hotel or on the cruise ship since there are no lockers, just open chests for storing belongings. Don't miss the café above the meeting point; it's charming, and the restrooms are kept clean.
Our experience was wonderful. The weather was pleasant, the guides were terrific, and the views were breathtaking. I appreciated the small group size; many tours can feel overcrowded. This tour was conveniently located near the cruise ships, making it easy to start.
While visiting Olden during our cruise in Norway, we booked a kayaking experience through P&O. Upon arriving at the port, we received guidance to the right location and assistance in finding appropriate gear like dry suits and shoes. We were then taken a short walk to the kayak boathouse for a safety briefing and equipped with life jackets. After paddling briefly in a small lake, we ventured onto the fjord. Since it was my first time kayaking, my arms began to fatigue, but the instructors cleverly arranged us in "raft formation" a few times to share insights about the area, allowing me to rest. The perspective of the fjord and our cruise ship from the kayak was wonderful, and I highly recommend this experience. Peter and Amelia (forgive me if the spelling is off) were fantastic guides, answering all my questions with impressive knowledge.
The trio of guides were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was breathtaking. They provided everything necessary, including a dry suit. It was a moderate workout, but we had some nice breaks in the fjord during our kayaking.
My group from the Fred Olsen cruise ship Balmoral had a wonderful time. Our instructor, Marcus, was friendly and supportive, and the equipment was top-notch. I would definitely do this again.
We opted for the kayaking trip during our cruise stop in Olden, and it exceeded our expectations. After a comprehensive briefing, we were treated to breathtaking mountain views, a distinct vantage point of the ship, and engaging local stories from our guides. I highly recommend Olden Active to anyone visiting the area; it’s a fantastic experience.
We enjoyed kayaking on Wednesday after booking with P and O. The safety briefing and instructions were clear, and as a visually impaired individual, I felt entirely secure. The staff members were experienced and knowledgeable throughout the experience. I highly recommend this activity.
It was a wonderful trip. I was uncertain about what to wear under the dry suit, but leggings and a t-shirt worked well. The information provided was helpful, and I felt very safe throughout the experience.
