Reviews
This was an enjoyable experience that I strongly recommend to those who appreciate animals and hiking. The scenery was beautiful, and we got some exercise at the beginning. The goats were sociable, while the alpacas were more reserved but warmed up. We sampled local cheeses and jam, picked strawberries, and gained insight into Viking farming practices and daily life. I wholeheartedly endorse this activity.
After our cruise tour was canceled, we discovered Steim Farm, which turned out to be a fantastic find. We had a private tour with Gaute, the owner, who picked us up at the port for an exciting adventure. Despite the heavy rain, we hiked through the stunning property and had a blast feeding the alpacas and goats. The misty scenery was breathtaking. At one point, we took a break at the cabin to warm up by the wood-burning stove and enjoyed local cheeses, jams, raspberry juice, and freshly baked sweet bread, presumably made by his wife. It was a truly unique experience, and we highly recommend it.
The experience was outstanding. We had the tour entirely to ourselves. The grounds were quite muddy, but it was definitely worth it. The animals were charming, and the owner was very pleasant. The views of Vik were stunning and the atmosphere was extremely tranquil. The farm tour combined with the Viking meal and cider tasting is absolutely worth it.
